Cause it's not for Doug to communicate with Krakoa.

Or for Mutants to interface with Krakoa

It's to give Krakoa an avatar to directly affect things.

Hmm, that's definitely not a pairing I would expect. Karma and Dani? That's very meh. Even Karma and Boom Boom would be more likely, IMO.

We’re severely lacking in gay content with this title. don’t make boring couple #3843874836 with magma and chamber, instead evolve with us and make mirage/karma a thing.

I would go with Dani/Magik instead, they have tons of chemistry. The only problem would be the MagiKat shippers. That said, Karma does need a GF, I don't remember the last time she dated. The problem is that she has been used so infrequently that she doesn't really have vibes with anyone except maybe Kate. Since the team's MO seems to be finding new mutants maybe they could hook her up with a new character.

This book doesnt need a gay romance just to have one. Dani's not gay or bi so they shouldnt pair her up with Karma

It also doesn't need a straight romance just to have one, with characters that have no history or chemistry and whose only commonality seems to me to be that they are both straight.

I would prefer Alan Davis to pick up the drawing instead, he is doing a great job drawing some New Mutants in Giant Size X-Men Nightcrawler.

I love Davis' old work, and he is an X-Men legend. But his contemporary work is not very good. I also don't think modern coloring works with his style, it needs flatness.

What is it with Cypher needing Mondo to communicate with Krakoa?

I thought Cypher can communicate directly without an intermediary...

I think that wasn't so much about Cypher needing to communicate with Krakoa as much as needing to establish a direct connection between the computer system he was working on and Krakoa's consciousness.

It's not - entirely - clear what the hell was going on with that whole Doug/Mondo/Krakoa thing. I've been re-reading this New Mutants run and all the original scene shows is Mondo doing his 'bonding with the soil' thing but not being able to pick up on any kind of sentient intelligence until Doug specifically asks the Big Giant Face aspect of Krakoa's sentience to "Give it a try", which leads to the creepy panels where the BGF appears on Mondo's torso (and definitely doesn't like it) while Mondo's own mind is cast into what looks a hell of a lot like the Upside Down from 'Stranger Things'.

I got the definite impression from that scene (and from the later scene on the Starjammer where Doug talks about Krakoa as something he still doesn't really understand) that, yeah, Doug is trying to find a way for Krakoa to be less of a sentient mutant-eating Location and more of a walking, talking member of society in its own right, but from the way the BGF version of Krakoa communicates verbally, he's doing it by integrating a version of Warlock's techno-organic intelligence into the Island biome and that's what he was hoping Mondo could connect with.

Remember, back in Life 9 Krakoa and Doug had a symbiotic relationship just like 'Douglock' of old. Perhaps that's how he did it.

oh this was great thank god I. can support my favorite team witout pain, yeah I like the classic aproach in a new status quo that is very very far away from it, but with a new twist of course.
