Therefore, due to the retroactive continuity, some in-story presentations of Marvel characters in the Vietnam War should be considered a depiction of the Sin-Con Conflict."

They should just move the war to set in Madripoor so they wouldn't have to keep moving it.

It makes sense. As I said before, neither Forge nor Thunderbird were ever meant to be as old as a Vietnam era vet is right now, is just that when they were originally created it made sense as the war had just ended in 75 and only 9 years had passed in 84. You cannot keep them linked to that conflict though, as being Vietnam veterans would age them too much in 2020. In fact it didn't even made sense when you think about Forge and Proudstar, as Thunderbird had just returned from the conflict when he was recruited by Xavier, and Forge has had 9 years of his life pass between the end of the conflict and his meeting of Storm. Even those two can no longer be vets of the same war, since in universe it hasn't been 9 years between Storm joining the X-men and her meeting Forge.

I agree. Unlike Captain America and Magneto, whose very characters depend of being part of WW2 and fighting/being victims of the Nazis, there is nothing that really needs to tie Forge to the Vietnam War. He can suffer the same loses and make the same mistakes in any other conflict, and setting it up in Madripoor actually would resolve any future conflicts with the sliding time table.

Excellent idea, Marvel should definitely go in this direction.

Forge would work on a X-Force comic, not on a kill squad X-Force, but one that would have to make the tough choices as Forge is more than familiar with that given his history...always thought that Forge would work great on an X-team that dealt with magic and all of that, the supernatural side of the Marvel U, with say Storm leading the team, maybe then add Kurt, Warpath, and Siryn and maybe one or two more and go with that...
