What is HE going to do if Marvel was sold? And the new owners say SCREW comic book stores-we are going OGNs or digital only?

Blame POC and LGBTQ folks like so many others?

I have a very hard time picturing Disney actually selling Marvel. There are other assets they could divest if things get that dire. The article is correct in noting that the movies and theme park attractions featuring the characters are useless right now, but the amount of money that Disney probably gets from licensing alone (toys, clothes, apparel, ect.) is probably substantial.

Marvel just needs to lean in to the joke everyone already thinks the book is and just make it into a straight up comedy.

Is anyone else still shocked that DC came up with and then implemented a plan that not only allowed them to get back on their feet but have their comics in the shops a day earlier? https://bleedingcool.com/comics/dc-c...k-tuesday-now/

    This is DC.

DC is not supposed to be this competent.

This does not make any sense that comics that were going to ship on April 1st have gone into limbo. I'm hoping that this is all still being hashed out and we'll get further updates next week. For now, if you got to the Previews site catalog page for products scheduled to be in shops for May, Marvel has nothing listed there

The only title that does make sense to be missing is Ms. Marvel - her inker died last week (and NOT from Covid-19). I can see that book being delayed until he's been replaced, even if an issue or two is already completed. I'd also now expect a tribute page to be in the next issue of any series he's contributed to.

That would, of course, have a knock on effect on Champions too, since Outlawed #1 ended with Kamala in a coma, which she wakes up from in her next solo issue, before Champions starts.

For the star wars fans here, Marvel is putting Dr. Aphra #1 up early digitally tomorrow because of May the 4th. https://twitter.com/germanjedi/statu...78416869560320

I wonder if any other titles will get the same treatment in the next four weeks?

With how slow their schedule is, I'm doubtful. They've had this ready to go for a while and it's likely they just want to promote doctor aphra more. She does have a new audio drama coming soon.

We'll see, but with it coming out on a Monday for Star Wars day, it might be just an isolated case. Then again, DC decided to surprise everyone and make Tuesday their new release day for comics, so you never know.

According to new information, Marvel is planning on resuming weekly releases of new comics starting July 15. So a lot of those missing titles may show back up then. Link here.

Other publishers intend to use Lunar, but Marvel isn't one of them.

The race isn't over yet. Let's see how things stand when the dust settles.

I am glad that DC found a way to get its product out. Loyalty to paying customers should come before loyalty to a distributor that, from what I hear, is refusing to cooperate or pay retailers for books ordered but not delivered, and supposedly has even shut down its customer service department so nobody can contact them.

But the new distributors are apparently connected to secondary market and discount distribution, and that strikes me as a very questionable choice.

DC also changes their plans every other day. At one point when this all just started, they were going forward with full digital releases, then changed their minds less than 24 hours later when people gave them crap for it. Even if they're ahead today, they might decide to screw themselves (and us) over tomorrow.

But DC does seem to be doing more than Marvel is to get their product out, even if those efforts seem questionable and/or poorly considered. We'll see where things stand when this mess is over.
