How will the coronavirus affect comics?

This is DC.
The company that can always be counted on to shoot itself in the foot.
DC is not supposed to be this competent.

Was Marvel the hare to DC's tortoise the whole time?

If Diamond has books DC already submitted and printed. Dc claimed they axed the contract. One of those books is coming out tomorrow-a book I already paid for. Now the question is does Diamond have a copy of that book? Meaning is my store going to be on the hook for another set of books that everyone will already have via other channels.

Also remember there is no DAN in charge. You have to wonder who really made these choices. And to me it seems that someone who wants all DC stuff to come out with everything else on Tuesday. If that is the case you have someone not in the comic mindset.

DC is not out of the woods look at how many characters they have ruined. Also they have a mess it deal with in G5 whatever that is. At least we know what marvel had planned before all this.

As for those other distributors marvel is using them for mail subscriptions. Yes they might have discounts and all that but so does Amazon & Ebay. Live with it.

Seriously though, I'm curious as to what Marvel will do next. It seems Marvel wants to stay and wait for Diamond.

Now maybe folks can get the books now.

My store had an issue with book ordering. Said book was not on the list to be ordered. They even showed me the Diamond order form they used-the books from Scout was not there.

And that was not the first time that has happened. The book in question was The Source=a book that for some odd reason was going for high prices on Ebay. Pretty much King Arthur reincarnated as a black man in modern times.

Mostly minis. The only one that isn't is Ghost-Spider. With no June solicitation, it's probably cancelled.

It semes to me that DC is doing much better them marvel with its plan for comics.

As I posted in the other topic--

Funny thing is some people were predicting this a year ago! Many comic strips do this aready. Post them online then a real trade.

Some manga do this also. Other manga release in 5 to 15 page chapters each day in a black and white mag with lesser page to cut cost and a phone book sized sunday version then get a trade later with better paper and higher price. In fact some people in japan throw away the mag mangas or donate them like we do time, newsweek and other mags here! Animate (a five story comic shop in japan! In fact they have two of these 5 story stores there!) has a wall of them for cheap from some of the videos!


This is nothing new to some comics in some places. Digital or short chapters in mags then real trade afterwords.

I'm a trade person so as long as I get the trades I don't care where it comes out first myself but can understand why people would be upset.

Nobody has an issue with it if we are talking new books that are not out yet.

The gripe is for books that were almost done and now you have stores with pretty much useless issues that might as well get tossed in bins.

Also it makes it hard to donate an incomplete story.
