    Default WWE question

Fairly new to CBR....can someone explain why there is WWE News on the main page? What does WWE have to do with comic books?

There have been several WWE characters, from the Undertaker to Stone Cold Steve Austin, who have had their own comic book series.
Watching television is not an activity.

I think wrestling is sort of lumped into the same geek culture as comics, sci-fi, anime, etc.

There are comics and cartoons, and wrestling can sometimes have sci-fi elements.

Meanwhile, with coronavirus having shut down the sports world, it’s only a matter of time before the WWE cancels matches, if that hasn’t already happened.

It seems most active on the TV Film forum. Which is appropriate.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

They aired a show last friday without an audience. So for the WWE the show can still go on.

As of this Morning the WWE said Westlemania was still going to happen. We will see.

WWE is mostly refusing to cancel it themselves knowing Florida will do it for them soon enough. Basically just so they can say "hey we wanted to do it, but weren't allowed."

It just seems so wrong with out a crowd. They feed off that energy and so do I when I watch.

Well, near everything you can think of probably has had a comic book for it.....that doesn't mean most comic book fans care about that other topic. Nascar has had comic books too. So has golf. Who is on this "let's lump everything together committee?" Do they have an email address?

Forget about the crowd. How can you maintain "social distance" and still portray a realistic wrestling match?

Like someone else already said: Wrestling and geek culture are connected. So, wrestling is almost a real life comic book, the characters certainly are. And the wrestling thread in this forum is alive and kicking, more then the comic independent section where its almost dead.
