    Default Spider-Slayer recommended reading?

Looking for suggestions for particular issues or story arcs for the Spider-Slayer. Not sure whether Alistair or Spencer at the helm makes a difference? Any ideas?

    Here's the stories I'd suggest:

    Spider Slayers - Amazing Spider-Man #290-292.
Invasion of the Spider Slayers - Amazing Spider-Man #368-373. Fun story from the 90's.
Revenge of the Spider Slayers - Amazing Spider-Man #652-654. This story is pretty awesome.

Those are the stories with Alistair Smythe as the Spider Slayer creator, if that makes a difference.

Amazing Spider-Man:167 and 168 have a cool Spider Slayer story as well.

Some of the older Spencer Smythe stories are pretty good. I'd recommend Amazing Spider-Man #25 (the first appearance), Amazing Spider-Man #58 (a rematch illustrated by John Romita) and Amazing Spider-Man #189-192 (essentially multiple stories united by an unhinged J Jonah Jameson.)
    Sincerely,

Nahhh; the best Spider-Slayer / Smythe-based stories, was Amazing Spider-Man #105-107, when the original Smythe, Professor (Spencer) Smythe legitimately becomes a criminal (earlier stories, he was just paid to create Spider-Beating Up machines) #150, when he also created dissolving robots of Vulture, Sandman, and Kingpin, before reusing big Slayer from #107, and said #189-192, when he strapped Spidey and Jonah to bomb, hoping to see them blow before he dies.

Second the Amazing Spider-Man 25 suggestion. One of my favorite stories.

In the comics, Spencer was way better than Alistair. Check the old stuff from AS #25, his debut, until his dead in AS #129.

Now, I always thought that the best depiction of Alistair was in Spider-Man: The Animated Series.
