Is current Dr. Strange still somewhat nerfed? Classic Strange's autoshields worked just fine against a wide range of esoteric effects. Manhattan's powers are firmly based on the physics of a specific version of reality, but Strange draws upon a wide range of extra-dimensional entities and energies that enable him to do all sorts of things that violate physics.
