There's an episode of Animaniacs where Yakko, Wakko, and Dot go to a drive-in to watch a foreign movie. It's in black and white and people wearing striped shirts and berets say depressed dramatic dialogue that seem to be the lyrics to the Farashaka song. I wouldn't mind a movie short of that.

It absolutely would have been worth revisiting.

It's also worth noting that the film Cecil B. Demented is a real treasure trove of this sort of thing...

- Honey Whitlock's films.
- Cherish having the entire career as an adult film actress that we get a brief glimpse of.
- Patch Adams: The Director's Cut.
- The "Forrest Gump" sequel that is being filmed.
- That we never actually see the cut of the film that The Sprocketholes are producing during the course of the film(though it does seem that the crew members get away with the footage at the close of the movie...)

That crime thriller starring Bruce Willis and Julia Roberts in Robert Altman's "The Player." (don't recall the name) I'm sure it wouldn't have been any better than a 2 1/2 star movie, but it's still two of the biggest stars of the time and I bet they'd have had great chemistry. It'd be one of those movies you'd find yourself watching whenever it came on tv.

SCTV had a lot of great spoofs of movies. There was Johnny LaRue's POLYNESIANTOWN (a CHINATOWN parody but with elements of CITIZEN KANE). Count Floyd ran WHISPERS OF THE WOLF on "Monster Chiller Theatre," thinking it would be a spooky movie but it was an Ingmar Bergman film--a mix of PERSONA with CRIES AND WHISPERS and THE HOUR OF THE WOLF. And then there was INDIRA, which parodied EVITA, but I also think it was a take off on COAL MINER'S DAUGHTER, as Indira was a "cow minder's daughter"--Slim Whitman played the Che Guevara role. I was on the floor rolling with laughter whenever SCTV was on the air.
