    Default Favorite Sidekicks

Sidekicks sometimes get a bad rap in comics. And most of the time they get into all kinds of trouble and need to be rescued. But I enjoy some of the sidekicks. So who are your favorite ones?

My top pick goes to the Wasp. I know she became a strong hero in her own right but when she started she was the sidekick of Pym. I know some would say partner but he never seemed to treat her like an equal in the old Tales To Astonish comics.

Another sidekick I enjoy is Doiby Dickles. A blue collar working man who gets mixed up with a man with amazing powers. He doesnt seem to need to be rescued that often and holds his own against thugs. I really enjoy him.

    So who are your favorites?

My avatar shows my favorite sidekicks, the Wonder Twins.

Of course, they're my fave characters as well.

Got into them through the cartoon, but really liked the way they were handled in the comic book much better. They were a lot smarter, and more adept at the use of their powers.

I'm glad that 2019 gave them a resurgence, and their own maxi-series. Since then they've been in Young Justice, and appeared in Action Comics and had a small cameo Superman: Heroes.

I really don't care for sidekick characters but if I had to choose it would be the original Robin Dick Grayson and a close second would be original Wonder Girl Donna Troy.

I like the golden age Flash's chums, Wynken, Blyken and Noddy, even if they were ersatz Three Stooges.

I've mainly read Marvel comics since the 90s. I just recently got into DC comics so I'm not too familiar with their sidekicks and the sidekicks from indie publishers are mainly doppelgangers of DC sidekicks. I'll go with Jubilee when she was partnered with Wolverine back in the '90s.

There is no reasonable competitor. The OG: Dick (Robin) Grayson. He is the wellspring from which all others flow.

LOL. Speaking of comics from the 90's...

I don't know if this counts, but my favorite will always be Captain America from Uncanny X-Men #268:

Robin (Dck Grayson) forever, the original and still the best. IMO.

While Robin is the OG sidekick, my fave is James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes!

    Robin, the first and best.

    Rick Jones, professional sidekick.

Kato, always keeping his hero out of trouble.

Tonto, who backed his friend, no matter that ppl tried to shame him for it.

Blue Beetle & Booster Gold, unique in that they’re really each others’ sidekicks.

Mercy Graves, she deserves a medal for what she has to deal with.

    Another fine, if non-traditional, choice.
