I'll second the OP's choice of My Hero Academia. It's easily my favorite current manga/anime series and does a great job examining and critiquing the superhero genre.

Otherwise, I'd list Power Rangers, Watchmen and The Umbrella Academy (I've only watched the show so far, but I plan to read the comics).

So My Favorite outside of Marvel and DC Comic and Honestly if I was being Honest this one HAS to be My FAVORITE Hero Universe and the Only one that Supasses both Marvel and DC Comics Combined!

    ALL The Sailor Moon Universes/Mediums!
This also. I'm actually watching the original series now. I haven't seen many of the expanded mediums outside of the original anime, Crystal and the manga though (never seen any of the plays or musicals). But this franchise is still one of my favorites.

I know your pointing out Superheroes is not their thing, but has there eve been a European (Belgian, French, German or any other) comic produced with a European equivalent of a Justice League of America, or Avengers ? With characters representing different nations of Europe as one team?
How would something like that be received?

I have to agree about Astro City, Invincible, IDW's TMNT and the King Features stuff. I grew up in rural Australia and read 'The Phantom' more often than any other comic book because the local fish n' chip shop always had it. Didn't always have the DC & Marvel stuff.

The superhero genre has always been a tiny niche market in all of European comic production. I don't think that there would be a market for it..

Milestone was great. Not sure if that counts.
Virgin Comics had one that heavily drew from from Hinduism which was pretty cool
Valiant has a lot of cool concepts.
    Pull List:

Marvel Comics: Venom, X-Men, Black Panther, Captain America, Eternals, Warhammer 40000.
    DC Comics: The Last God

    Valiant
What was the name of the Invincible universe? That one was great.
    Wildstorm
    Milestone
Whichever universe the Tick is in. Same with Flaming Carrot.

In agreement with you about W.I.T.C.H. (both in comics and in animation):

Don't know how much Man of Action Studios ever self referenced?
Would Big Hero 6 (if Disney hadn't absorbed it)
And whatever this was, be part of that same U. Not sure if they ever in universe referenced each-other?

    What series is this?
