Anybody else tired of this hopping around with "Before/Now"? What's the point? We already know they'll make it in the end. This is all before the reveal right?

I don't think it is actually. He revealed his identity to Melody Moore telling her he'd be revealing it to the world in a day or so and if she can keep it quiet he'd endorse her. Then the invasion started almost immediately.

I think the disjointed nature of the story has been it's biggest drawback, moreso even than Romita's art. We're like 5 issues in and there is very little sense of whether or not anything has actually progressed, the stakes are even more muddled. I get what he was trying to go for, but the execution (once again) is just a mess.

You're totally right. The big fight takes place literally seconds after he reveals his identity to Moore.
Personally, I don't have a big problem with the disjointed nature of the story as a whole. I'm usually into that sort of storytelling. But-- and I try not to be *that* guy-- damn if I can't get past the art on this thing. It sucks out a lot of the gravity from what should read like the Kennedy assassination meets 9/11 by way of the villains plan in Old Man Logan's flashback. Just imagine if Steve Epting or someone with more weight to their art were on this.
I'm not one to sit here and yell about how people that draw better than me aren't drawing the way I want, but I genuinely feel like this was incorrectly cast on the art side, and that's negatively impacted how the story reads.Last edited by Superlad93; 03-20-2020 at 09:48 AM.

I hate to be that guy but I will...Grodd wouldn't say "#$%^ Yes!"
There's just some disconnect for me here with Luthor as Apex Lex here from all the Snyder stuff popping in to try and kill Superman. This might be the last time we see Superman fight Luthor if 5G hits and it's utilizing a Lex story that isn't even relevant to the Superman books. That's not even getting into whether I like the change to Lex or not, but it just feels out-of-place.

Ugh this art is a sore piece to my eyes. Romita's style seems very line accentuated to me.
