I suspect the movie actually benefits. I watched the movie for nearly double the cost I would have paid for in the theater, the studio didn't have to pay for distribution costs, I watched it primarily because I was bored, and found it to be almost nothing like what I expected. It was Roger Corman-bad. The action scenes were confusing and badly edited, the story was almost non-existent. It was the first Vin Diesel movie I've ever seen (not counting Guardians of the Galaxy) and I found his acting to make Dolph Lundgren look like Robin Williams.

Had this been released in theaters, I have to believe it would have been pulled in 2 weeks. The loss would have been much greater than having been released on VOD.

Also, my attention wandered a bit so I may have missed it, but was the title of the movie ever actually explained?

Maybe his name had something to do with the nanos on his blood that gave him his powers. Something that would have been obvious to someone who actually watched the movie.

Is it really charm? Honestly, he seems like Van Damn or Seagal, expecting everyone to think he's cool by beating the crap outta mooks without a single hair out of place. Err, so to speak
