Superman : well, i like many different versions actually, Reeves, Routh, Cain and even poor, inexpressive Welling. Cavill looks the part fine and he can act but..well...Snyder.

Wonder Woman : Gadot. I'm probably going to get burned alive for that but i'm really not a big fan of Carter.

Luthor : Rosenbaum. Shame he had to deal with so much poor writing.

Batman : West, his capacity to say absolute nonsense in a completely serious way is pure genius.

Lois Lane : now that's a tough one...Hatcher, Durance, Kidder...ah well, Hatcher i guess. Durance was charming and Kidder was great but Hatcher had it all in that show.

Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor obviously.

I do like that guy who plays Jimmy Olsen on Supergirl as well. I mean, to me he's the best live action Jimmy Olsen even though he's not comic-accurate. The writers screwed him over though.

Grant as Flash obviously, writers need to stop writing him like an idiot as well.

    Cavanaugh as Reverse Flash easily.

I added a poll to this thread that includes the top 15 mentions. Sorry for the asterisks--I think it's because I used a hyphen. It's obviously supposed to say "******action." Vote!

OK hyphens don't work. LIVE ACTION.

How am I the first person to vote for Henry Cavill in the poll? Nonsense! I did also vote for George Reeves, who has somehow become underrated, despite being the defining Superman for a generation.

Here's some portrayals I love that didn't make it into the poll for some reason!

Ezra Miller's Barry Allen is adorable and I love him. He's my son.

Amy Adams is my favorite Lois Lane, followed closely by Phyllis Coates.

Helen Slater is actually an awesome Supergirl.

Joivan Wade is a fantastic Cyborg in Doom Patrol, I feel like a traitor to poor Ray Fischer, who was largely robbed by Justice League, but Wade is better. Actually everyone on Doom Patrol is pretty amazing.

Nobody has ever lived up to Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor. I think Kevin Spacey and Jesse Eisenberg are both good too, if solid by material that doesn't really encapsulate what I want Lex to be, but Rosenbaum has so much space to make that role, he's fantastic. I don't think he'll ever be surpassed in the role.

    Margot Robbie is a legend.

    Jason Momoa as Aquaman, baby!

How did Jason Mamoa and Erica Durance Lois Lane not make the poll? Oh well
Done with DC. Can't handle the constant whiplash! Time to go on a hiatus!

Ok, well going with characters who have been played by multiple actors
Ledger is my favorite Joker, and controversially, I’d say he’s the most comic accurate.
Chris Reeve is my favorite Superman, frankly it’s a huge gap between him and everyone else in the role.
    Penguin: Robin Lord Taylor
It’s impossible for me to rank John Wesley Shipp vs Grant Gustin. Their incarnations of Barry Allen are tied together too heavily and they both brought a lot to the role.
Matt Letcher is my favorite Reverse Flash. Cavanagh is great, but Letcher IS Eobard.
Going with Bale as Batman for reasons stated before
Jon Cryer is the best Lex Luthor. Really every tv Lex(Shea, Rossenbaum, Cryer)>every film Lex (Hackman, Eisenburg, Spacey)
Lois Lane is like Barry, is too difficult, she has a far better track record than Superman or Lex.
Durance, Kidder, Hatcher...who cares? They were all perfect.
Alfred Pennyworth: I’m leaning towards Sean Pertwee, but also a good track record. Hard to pick a bad Alfred.
Best Catwoman is Hathaway, I think she’s underappriated.
There has never been a good Bane, Nolan, Shrumacher, Gotham all blew it.
Best Jim Gordon is Oldman and it’s not even close.
Jovian Wade is the best Cyborg. The entire cast of Doom Patrol is perfect
Viola Davis is the best Amanda Waller. I hope Gunn gives her a better chance to shine.
Titans sucks but Esai Morales is the best Slade Wilson
Burt Ward is somehow still the best Dick Grayson.

As an old fan of the Teen Titans i must say that i'm quite happy with most of the casting of the Titans show.

Dick is almost perfect, Gar is pretty good, not complain about Raven and Donna's cool too. (oh and Jason was awesome)

and i watched a bit of Black Lightning recently and if i found the show to be quite awful for being honest i did like a lot the main actor.

Well, as long as he isn't in his costume. Poor bastard looks ridiculous in it.

    Arrow: Deathstroke
Flash: Vibe, Kaitlin Frost, Captain Cold, Zoom, Jay Garrick, Reverse Flash
BL: Pretty much the whole cast
Smallville: Lex, Green Arrow and Lois
Titans: Dick Grayson, Hawk and Dove, Donna Troy
    WW: Gal Gadots ww
Justice League: Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman
Nolanverse: Alfred, Lucious Fox, Joker and Bane
Reading List (Super behind but reading them nonetheless):
    DC: Currently figuring that out
    Marvel: Read above
    Image: Killadelphia, Nightmare Blog
Other: The Antagonist, Something is Killing the Children, Avatar: TLAB

Reeve was Superman for me back in '78 (though people here are wrong that he nailed it perfectly - Supes/Clark in the comics back then was different than in the Donnerverse), but Cavill's is the coolest, IMO.

Christopher Reeve's movie Superman certainly did not portray the Superman featured in 1978's DC Comics, but it might be said that Reeve's portrayal would influence how Superman would be portrayed in the comics during the 1980s, especially after COIE.

Yep. That's when he started becoming "The Big Blue Boy Scout" in print, which he really wasn't before that, IMO.
