So Sony won't be releasing any big movies until 2024.
Studios are gonna just have to figure out a new method...
Does the contract state how they are to release films? I don't think so. Making films for streaming would probably suffice.
And yeah, I believe there needs to be a film every 5 years. I really hope we're over this covid crap by 2024.

If they don't put a spider man movie out evay 7 year's marvel gets the rights back.
https://twitter.com/ERCboxoffice/sta...27885164662785With over 70% of theaters open domestically, the entire industry totalled just $12.5M this past weekend, down 88% vs. this same time last year, when IT: CHAPTER TWO & HUSTLERS propelled the box office to $110M.
With limited product, how can theaters even operate at a profit?
No shock croods 2 has moved off it's dec date---into a nov date!

Also as reported in the anime thread the new cg lupin movie is getting a big screen release in theaters on October 18.
A lupin movie getting a american theater release that's not by studio ghibili? Crazy!
Most licensing agreements with regards to film adaptations only require that the studio actively produces a film.
Given that the time gap between the releases Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man was 5 years, and Spider-Man: Far From Home was released just last year, I'd say Sony is likely fine provided that the sequel remains in active production.
