    Default Captain America Costume Origin?

Back in the early 1920s, the National Hockey League expanded to New York City, with a new team called the New York Americans. They wore wildly Star-spangled uniforms. The Americans were STILL playing in NYC when Simon & Kirby created Captain America. Iíve attached a comparison of the Amerks jersey and Capís costume. I donít think Iíve ever heard of anybody surmising that Simon/Kirby MAY have based Capís look on the Amerks. The Americans were popular early on and the guys could very easily have been fans. Check it out. C33045EF-37DB-4038-A065-DE9996BEFCA2.jpg

I'm pretty sure both of those designs are just slight variations of the American flag. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Of course youíre not wrong. Lol.
Why would I want to CORRECT you?
Iím not insisting that Iíve found new evidence or facts.
I am simply wondering at the interesting possibility.
The arrangement of the motifs are very close.
I love the possibility that these guys couldíve adapted a hockey teamís uniform for their new hero.
