I dont think Remender would be a universally popular writer to come back.
X-Force is a classic, but the "call me Alex" thing and some of the subsequent stuff....
The only person more unlikely than him would be Grant Morrison. Or John Byrne I suppose....

He writes a great Jean that I can say IMO.Just found my entire 2 year X-bible plans from when I was going to take over the X books. Haven't opened it since I quit in 2014. Was very Fantomex, Jean, and Professor X-orn centric. Big bad was Mastermind. Just couldn't make myself do the mandated Inhumans story. c'est la vie

His UA was actually conceptually better than anything that Bendis or any other ANAD writer was doing.

Honestly I never made it past the Otherworld arc in UXF. I tried to re-read the run from the start a few months and I stopped when Wolverine and AOA Jean meet and immediately start going at it in the Dark Angel saga. Maybe someday I'll get the full hobo piss experience

It's a pretty small sample, but just the fact that it was so focused on Fantomex and already having multiple deaths on the first page suggests to me that it would have been even worse than what Lemire delivered.

Good on him for not doing that Inhumans trash. Unfortunate that Lemier and Soule attached their names to it.
X wasn't going to be successful at the time regardless of what was done because Marvel was going to make sure of that.
Would like to see Remender come back and take a crack at it after we hand the keys to Ben Percy for a while.
