Could have been early 2018 maybe when he got that offer, but literally last year doesn't sound right.
So concepts like
Apocalypse Twins
Red Skull using Charles's brain to make his self-conscious Onslaught.
Final Horsemen
Future X-Force
are bad?
lol
I can even tell by Axis that it was meant to be a more self-contained storyline in UA rather than line wide event. Heck his run is even than any Avenger run apart from Hickman of this decade.
UA had good concepts, and art, and action, so it's too bad they were all wasted on UA.
I don't blind date I make the direct market vibrate
Of all of Remender’s ideas to stick your neck out for... Red Onslaught? Really?
I liked the Final Horsemen well enough... they were kinda window dressing honestly. But the first 18 issues of Uncanny X-Force were the best an X-Force book has ever been.
The future X-Force stuff and the Final Execution in general were duds. It repeated too many beats from Dark Angel Saga. Nothing about future X-force was memorable — good or bad. The best thing about that arc was Opeña’s Omega Clan designs. Honestly, he should’ve just done a whole arc about White Sky; that was the most interesting bit and it was only in one issue.
The Apocalypse Twins have fucking killer designs — that’s credit to Acuña, right? Their designs are so great that I desperately want them to show up again.
The single best issue of Uncanny Avengers was probably the Age of Ultron issue. Which says a lot.
Remender lost his Marvel mojo around when he got Secret Avengers, if you ask me. The first 14 issues of Venom he did were superb, the best venom I’ve ever read. And then it was just mediocre after that.
Jude Terror speculates he might have been the original choice for Disassembled / Age of X-Man / Rosencanny
