History of the DC Universe (Update 2020!)

Since the official history of the DC universe looks like it’s going to take a little longer to get straightened out thanks to the latest corporate reshuffle, here’s my own fully illustrated version, freshly updated and tweaked for your viewing pleasure. It’s an attempt at chronicling the entire publishing history of the DCU across all continuities, spanning all media from the comics, TV, and movies, as if it was all one continuous story.



These images give you the broad overview of how the timeline works in terms of the Trinity. For the more detailed breakdown, I will link to the Google Docs for each era. Feel free to offer suggestions or tweaks. I use this history for my more superhero-obsessed students, so any ideas for improvements are always welcome. Thanks.

I've updated the Modern Age to reflect current events, but I'm not sure I (or anyone else) really understands exactly what is going on with the whole Leviathan, Doomsday Clock, Perpetua, and Death Metal stuff. However, I have done my best to sum it all up to the best of my understanding.

I appreciate it. Feel free to make any further suggestions. Just keep in mind that I won't necessarily implement all of them for my history, but you are free to do whatever you'd like with what I've made.

I am using this for my students, but it could easily be adapted for whatever uses any fan wants. I am trying to build a sturdy spine of the greatest hits from across all incarnations of the DCU. Fans can fill in the blanks however they'd like or omit any of my own flourishes.

The only mention of the Hall of Justice is when it was established during the Super Friends era. Nothing about memorials or the various superhero graveyards or the many times the Hall of Justice has been reestablished. I also thought the Robot Mecha Hall of Justice was cool, but it's also not going to be included, no matter how dumb and awesome that is.
