I can think of a lot of instances where looking like Bruce Campbell or having a chainsaw for a hand would be useful.
Do you just turn into a pile of ash, or is it more like a Logia thing from One Piece where your body is ash, but you can still control yourself fully. If it's an ash elemental form deal, then yes, it's incredibly useful in terms of not really being physically hurt anymore.
Turning things into ash is not as useful, but if you can also control ash, that might be sliiiightly more useful. But not really.
Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence.

When I transform into ash, do I have mobility? Like, am I now an animate cloud of ash that can fly around? If so, it's useful, like a vampire's ability to become gaseous.
Changing stuff into ash could be useful for self-defense. An enemy's gun or knife could become ash, or the enemy himself if he does not retreat. I guess in that case I'd also need a pretty good vacuum cleaner....
Not a cool as a beech. Or maybe redwood.
Yes, that was a reference to the ash tree.
