I feel this issue is to bring attraction to the New Mutants movie which also starred Lockheed as Magik's pet.

This issue is obviously a tribute to Alan Davis art .

Page 1:
The Team enter through the gate remarking about the odd mutant signature they took note of.
Kurt requests Eyeboy to do a scan.
Eyeboy notes that while he can't pick up any singlular person, he does see movement all around them
Lockheed goes wild
Kurt goes to calm him down, but is then sees something

Page 2
Panel 6: Confronted by the illusion (That everybody sees and not just Kurt)
Panel 7: They try to dogpile Illusion rachel, but she dodges out of the way
Panel 8: Run after her down the hall way
Panel 9: Second attempt, this time they succeed
Panel 10: Illusion fades and the sidri scatter

Page 3
Doug goes through the wall
Doug confronted with the alien tech
Illyana follows immediately after him (rather than just fucking around and not)
Kurt and Eyeboy fight off the sidri alone
They're pushed into the area where Lady Mastermind is being stored

Warlock reveal
Doug requests Magik keeps it a secret
Warlock interfaces with the tech
Cut back to Nightcrawler and Eyeboy fighting
Magik and Doug appear
Fight disolves

Page 5
Whoops lady mastermind all along
Leave

Give it a leeway wind of about 3 or so pages so somewhere between 4 and 8.

Well... I’d buy it. I assume there would be a caption in the last page that’s Kurt’s thought process basically saying they’ll leave the mansion to the Sidri for now.

this was fun enough. Davis gave us a couple of stellar pages, the one where "Rachel" is reminiscing and the page practically melts into flame is so so gorgeous.

I wish we got more answers in regards to the Warlock stuff. Its eating me alive.

I agree this was basically Giant-Sized Cypher but im not mad about it tbh, Cypher doesn't sell books the same way as Kurt. Hickman obvs has stuff in store for Kurt anyways considering X-Men #7

Regan showing up was cool, a bit of an "....ok. neat." moment. I wonder if this is foreshadowing an important role for her moving forward...or of they just threw her in because they needed to explain the weirdness lol.

I'm interested in the implications of the Sidri staying on the estate. not super invested but it could be a fun story.

All my thoughts about this book feel very non-committal to me as im writing them. make of that as you will lol

I know you're half-joking but this is a REALLY good catch. theres something here...what are the chances two artists with completely different styles just happened to match each other's motifs..

Warlock! So that explains that scene in the Crucible issue. I guess he's hiding because he's not a mutant?

Well he's technically a mutant Technarch, so that might suffice. But it's not like Krakoa doesn't know he exists as he's having tea time with Doug and K on the regular. I think he's likely hiding because of all the nonsense that happened under Rosenbergs pen (ie infecting his friends) and is ashamed by it. Hence he's just sticking to Doug's arm.

We got some new information and finally the Warlock secret is out. Funny how Illyana is not eve surprised lol.

But overall this was ok.

Nightcrawler got robber in this. For an issue dedicated just to him, they didn't do justice. He didnt stand out at all.

To be fair, Hickman did state in AIPT's X-Men Monday that some of the Giant Size issues didn't just focus on the title character, but a team...

As Jordan has beat us over the head with and said repeatedly, Hickman doesn't "just do things". That's twice a mutant has emerged from an egg in books he wrote, outside of the resurrections.

If Erik is making an omelette in GS Magneto, I swear...

Eggs have been in every book it seems. King egg, reincarnation eggs, the GS eggs, etc.

I did not like this issue. Wasnt a huge fan of the last either. Looking forward to Magneto tho. They can't mess up my king.

Also have to question why Kurt was even there since he contributed the least to the plot.
