Before she passed away on Monday, British Horror Star Barbara Shelley spent two weeks in isolation right before Christmas, as she had contracted COVID during a check-up in a hospital.

This is terrible, and it shows why so many people (including me) have been postponing needed medical treatments during the pandemic. The actual toll of the virus on the public's health is greater than you would estimate from the number of COVID-10 cases alone. RIP Barbara Shelley, who gave us Hammer Horror fans so many hours of entertainment.
