Default SUPERMAN & LOIS - what vibe do you have before it premieres?

The 5th Clark Kent show (and 7th Superverse show) is set to air later this calendar year 2020 ... presuming the Coronavirus pandemic doesn't stall it for a while.

What's your overall feeling about the show before it airs, and why?

    Poll forthcoming.

Probably between options 2 and 3. The script for the pilot was low key fire on its own, but there's a bit of room for this to not be great.

But as of right now? I'm into it.
"Mark my words! This drill will open a hole in the universe. And that hole will become a path for those that follow after us. The dreams of those who have fallen. The hopes of those who will follow. Those two sets of dreams weave together into a double helix, drilling a path towards tomorrow. THAT's Tengen Toppa! THAT'S Gurren Lagann! MY DRILL IS THE DRILL THAT CREATES THE HEAVENS!" - The Digger

Most superhero shows have high ups and low downs. The CW shows in particular have their...cwness you have to kind of put up with. But really even stuff like the Netflix Marvel shows started great but quickly went all over the place. And actually ended up kinda worse in a lot of ways. Basically what I’m saying is you have to take the bad with the good. But I’m cautiously optimistic because I actually like Hoechlin’s Superman and Tulloch’s Lois plus the pilot seemed pretty decent and different.

I think we might be jumping the gun since it hasn't premiered yet. But if that leaked script is real, I get a real Smallville vibe from it. Which is a selling point for me. It sounds like the bulk of it is going to take place in Smallville which might be a good thing since you can't have all the shows be filmed in Vancouver without people noticing that all these fictional cities have the same buildings at some point.

Went against my instincts and voted good. My immediate response is great - Hoechlin's my favorite Superman, and the pilot script blew me away - but the kids are a huge X factor, especially given the worst chunks of that script were the #teens dialogue, and end of the day it's still a CW show.

As long as they don't give Superman a team that has a stupid ass tech guy, it'll be fine.

The dialogue was what made me doubt the script was real to begin with. Teenagers don't talk like that. That's what a 50 year old thinks a teenager talks like. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the young actors doesn't take the director aside and say something like "Um...nobody really talks like this."

Major meh. I'm honestly over the Supergirl propping since it happened in her own show, that's not that big a deal to me anymore. But on his own I don't feel Hoechlin at all as Superman, only a little more positive on Lois, and as anyone whose had the displeasure of my whining knows, I'm not a fan of the Superdad concept. So its a pretty easy no-go for me.

Hard pass. The CW is like the Asylum movies. Hoechlin is fine for this kinda production, I guess- but is the worst cast Superman I've seen. The dude just has zero presence, and looks like he's modeling a Spirit Halloween costume.

Caught one episode of SUPERGIRL, to give it a shot, and couldnt make it past halfway. I thought the lead actress was charismatic and charming enough, just stuck with real bad material. Caught some clips of Routh in Crisis and ended up just feeling bad for Routh's career ending up in a CW joint.

    I didn't vote.

I dont watch any of the CW shows...

I've tried Gotham, The Flash, Supergirl, Titans, Doom Patrol...

I'm happy these shows exist and I hope they grab big fanbases that can translate into comic readers as well...

I did watch Lois and Clark and a kid and John Wesley Ship Flash as a kid and smallville as a teen...
    ...

Because of the old Keaton and Reeves movies and and those old TV shows I became a comic reader...

Now I just tend to find the books more interesting then the shows...

Gems do pop up tho... I keep trying to see if anything grabs me...

Best of luck to the show

Looking forward to it, but by including yet another OC, there's a fine line to walk with this sort of show.

I want to vote "grrr" but my reason has nothing to do with MOS 2 and everything to do with my disinterest of the superdad take.

Followed my heart and voted #5. I just don't like Hoechlin enough as Superman (And I don't even find him attractive). He tries but he doesn't have the presence, IMO.

Also leaning towards #3 Iffy, but despite that, hoping for a big miracle and this show at least turns out decent and entertaining to watch. At least he seems like a good enough actor. Lois is fine so far. Hope she's not an extreme feminist and belittles Clark..

Nothing shown between the two thus far has indicated anything like that.

I think in her first crossover (Elseworlds?) she said some dumb feminist remark about girls been better than boys at something. It was so weird and forced like many things in that ep, IMO.
