Okay, I'm confused. Are you just pointing out prequels, or are you saying that these are the best of the prequels that have been made? Because I'll STRONGLY disagree with you about Attack of the Clones, and A Phantom Menace. Clone Wars- are you talking the movie they released, or the show they culled the four episodes out of to make that movie?

X-Men: Origins was a travesty. First Class and DoFP were better by MILES.

I liked the Hobbit trilogy, but a lot of people didn't.

Really? There were things I liked about it more than LOTR- many effects looked much better; Gollum looked GREAT, and Smaug looked beautiful. I appreciated that the Wizard's magic looked more cinematic than what they did in LOTR. And I liked the cast. On the flip side, none of the Orcs looked good. There was a realness of the Orcs and Urik-Hai in LOTR thanks to actually putting actors and stuntmen under makeup. In the Hobbit, they were all CGI, motion captured characters, and none of them felt as real as Gollum. That and the high frame rate that Jackson was trying to push really hurt the look at times.

THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY (1966)

Possibly an unpopular opinion- I remember liking 'For a Few Dollars More' much more that TGTB&TU. I actually remember being bored watching that one. But it has been a few years; I'll probably give it another shot soon.

The Hobbit movies were like a parody of Tolkien IMO, with the exception of a few bits.

I can think of the prequel segments from The Godfather Part II and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, but nothing else really comes to mind. Captain America: The First Avenger and Captain Marvel if you really consider those "prequels."

Ive come to appreciate TGTB&TU more as I’ve gotten older.
While Clint Eastwood was obv. the Star, and Lee Van Cleef was a bigger name, it was really Eli Wallach who shone.
His character of Tuco Benedicto Pacífico Juan María Ramírez (aka The Rat) drove much of the narrative, and we learn more about him than any of the other titular characters.
Too bad he never spun off into his own series of misadventures!

I liked The Hobbit more than the LotR in book form, but the movies weren't as good as the book.

I remember the prequel TV series Young Indiana Jones was fun. Need to watch some if it again.

Haven't seen it but am interested in watching the Dark Crystal prequel one day.
