Default Strange Adventures #7 discussion and spoilers

Another great issue, but still not a lot of answers. Most of the issue has Adam being tortured by an agent of the Pykkts. Someone who has been through an invasion and destruction of his home planet and apparently a similar torture. He questions why Rann and Adam didn’t help them.

The torture is kind of tearing Adam through time and space, seemingly destroying his mind. “The Tower of Rainbow Doom is supplanting the zeta beam ions in your body, replacing them as they fade. ...You’re not traveling anywhere. Except, like, you’re going everywhere right?”

Adam was tortured for weeks or even months. But this whole things brings into question what is real and actually happening. Back on earth, Adam apparently killed a man he suspected of being a Pykkt spy, but turned out to be just a regular person. Is this what Alana has been trying to cover up?

We’re still not shown the Pykkt language, so that door remains closed. But we now know that Adam went through some pretty horrendous torture so his tendency to shoot first and ask questions later is sort of explained.

Good God, King really needs to go to the stereotype to the extreme whenever he tries to write archetypes. That's probably the most cliche hippie dialogue that I've ever read.

Aside from that, solid issue that offers a few interesting plot-points. Great art as always.

Like with Mister Miracle, I have no idea what's going on, but I am enjoying it.

The same can also be said for Morrison/Sharp GL, so that's a compliment

I assumed Alana was covering up whatever actually happened with their daughter. She took Adam killing a human pretty easily, which makes me think they definitely have bigger secrets.

I've gotta ask, this is my first time reading a adam strange story, how do fans of the character like this book so far?

Alright, who had "Adam in the Street with the Ray Gun?" Clue is getting ghastly.

I feel like more happens in Morrison/Sharp GL's one issue than in these 7 issues so far. Like, I get it, I like it, but can we move on already? To me it doesn't feel like this story has legs for 12 issues.

It's better that i don't say anything, i was looking foward to this but i wanted a solo, upbeat Strange adventure, and the characters with the right personality, not the same ones King writes all the time, the relationship between him and his wife...

Overall I’ve been enjoying this story but I don’t think it needed to be 12 issues. The fact that we’re 7 issues in and we still don’t really know what’s going on is telling.

This exactly. King didn't write a 12 issue story, but that is how DC does these minis now, so King has to make it 12 issues. In the old days this is a 4 issue prestige series. It's interesting, and the art is good, but another 4 1/2 issues of not revealing what is going on will be maddening.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

It can't be that, she was asking what happened to her with Adam; if anything he's covering it up from her.
