Default Who will win the streaming wars?

Disney+ launched in November, and soon, HBO Max will enter the streaming race.

Between Netflix, Disney+, and HBO Max, who will win the streaming wars?

Smart money is on your internet service provider.

Why not put Amazon into the mix?

Everyone will have its place in the streaming culture. Disney in the long run will be on top.

My bet's on Netflix. They have the decided edge in terms of material, including original movies and series, even animation.

Nextflix has the advantage of seniority, Disney+ has the advantage of being rival-less in content. They're the most likely contenders.

Netflix, Amazon and Disney are in good positions.

Netflix cause everyone and their mothers have at least used it once, Amazon cause the name is well-known world-wide and that they are starting to have quite a decent catalog and Disney cause it's an evil empire who has already bought half of the existing franchises ever made.

If only one is going to survive it's Disney of course cause soon or later they are going to buy all of mankind and sell it to the Centaurians. (you heard it here first)

In my opinion, if you were to separate Amazon streaming from Amazon Prime, it would have less than half it's subscription base. Most people only watch Amazon because it's included with Prime so they have it anyway. You'd be hard pressed to find someone that has Prime just for streaming.

    True!

But its also the reason why it will be there no matter if business is good or bad.

Nah, they'll buy the Centaurians too. They'll own the multiverse eventually.

The streaming wars are basically "what if we had ala carte cable?" like people have always wanted.

There's likely going to be multiple winners. But I also predict you'll see some niche streaming services along the lines of WWE Network that also end up surviving and thriving.

Disney will dominate the world if they can avoid being acquired by Apple.

I think several players will survive and it will eventually become like cable TV, with people paying one monthly fee to access all the channels. You might be able to do it a-la-carte, unlike cable, which would make it cheaper.

Disney+ will be limited if they stick to only G and PG content. They will still be successful, though.

Netflix, Disney+, Amazon and HBO Max will be the ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox of the future. (Hulu will get absorbed into Disney eventually.)

The Apple rumors are bullshit. Just a financial analyst throwing something out there and hoping it gains enough traction for it to happen. Last year there were rumors of Apple buying Sony. What happened to that?

Disney+ isn't/won't be limited to G and PG - they have PG13 MCU movies.

Wouldn't it be something if Tubi won?

Hey, you may laugh, but Tubi is the place for schlocky horror movies, retro cartoons and lots of other stuff for people with very niche tastes. Thanks to Shout! Factory they even have the original Kamen Rider. It may be a garage sale/flea market of a streaming service, but a good one.

While I can appreciate it for what it is, it's not really even in the running.

It's more of an equivalent of a mom and pop video store than anything else.
