Even in a title that was brilliant, that arc stuck out as being just a bit better than the rest of the run.
Is that set in the DCU?

    No. Separate universe. Good series.

There were a number of race and gender swaps in Wildstorm, but not much backlash because of it. I guess it only matters if the characters wear skin tight superhero suits.

Great suggestions guys! I would prefer if they were like new superhero’s instead of old superheroes being written about again. For example someone like Aero

    Exactly.

It's essentially an individual spin on the "Classic Coke..." Wildstorm universe that starts said universe over from the ground up.

Won't be for everyone, but folks who will like it will probably really like it.

One note on the "DCU..." aspect of The Wild Storm -

The "In Universe" spin off Michael Cray series is sort of "DCU" adjacent.

Some of it was subtle enough that you would have to have been seriously well versed in your "Classic Coke..." Wilstorm universe to even catch some of it.

The DV8 stuff that turned up was particularly easy to miss.

In that case, might I suggest...

    Arana/Spider-Girl

First appearance: Amazing Fantasy, Vol. 2 #1

After her first appearance, she then makes appearances in both her own ONGOING series & numerous other mini-series:

One Punch Man. It's manga but the artwork is top-shelf, it's funny & the premise is quite different than anything Western comics has to offer.
