How do the detractors explain the Eternals? They are explicitly a splinter race of humans who've evolved due to Celestial interference, exactly like mutants, but they are so long lived and powerful that they have been worshipped as Gods across the world. They are every bit as powerful as the Olympians or the Asgardians

An Eternal Skrull and a Deviant Skrull were both elevated into becoming the focus of the Skrull religion

He also bothered death like The Five did. And honestly, if he becomes the One Below All, he's going to be more than God.

The universal societies really intrigued me when Power of X was coming out. I revisited those data pages today and figured this might be appropriate to include here:

Asgardians and the like are only 'gods' because they appeared to primitive human kind who saw a powerful race of people do things they couldn't understand thus declared them as god's. If the Asgardians appeared now they'd probably be treated the same as any other highly advanced alien race.

Storm is a Goddess this is supported by multiple sources across many books, there is not a currently defined set or criteria for godhood. Several powerful beings in Marvel have claimed godhood based solely on power or referred to as such without being remotely close to the "traditional" sense of of the word.

Characters can also be multiple things Moonstar is a Mutant/Valkyrie, Broo is a Brood/Mutant, Pixie is a Mutant/Faerie, Magik is a Mutant/Hell Lord, Jean is a Mutant/Host to the PF, etc... Specific parameters for most things in comics are at the discretion of the writer. Storm being an Omega level mutant whose also a Goddess is just another one of those things.

Even without the Five and Magneto’s new outlook, there’s a lot of connection between mutantkind and godhood whether it be the Demiurge, Hadari Yao, Darkchylde, or Phoenix.

Franklin and Galactus, too. I actually wouldn't mind seeing an issue or arc in DoX involving the big G.

If the power of worship can empower you (give you superhuman powers, not that televangelist BS). Then I consider you a god.

    Yeah, that's pretty much it.

I would agree with you LAM. But if that's the case i'm curious how come Magneto isn't a God??

Regardless of what some may "like" or "don't like", "accept or don't accept", there are many different avenues, in established comic-book canon, whereby mortals can attain mythical and/or cosmic godhood.
All the evidence is right there on the pages if one would just be open to relinquishing their head-canons and intellectual biases.
Lord Ewing *Praise His name! Uplift Him in song!* Your divine works will be remembered and glorified in worship for all eternity. Amen!

“Strength is the lot of but a few privileged men; but austere perseverance, harsh and continuous, may be employed by the smallest of us and rarely fails of its purpose, for its silent power grows irresistibly greater with time.” Goethe
