Well, I direct you to...the Spectre. And frankly, others. The Hawks for example; I can't imagine hitting someone in the face with a metal mace doesn't kill. They also had both Black Adam and Atom Smasher, who killed. I think the JSA has more of a guideline going than a hard and fast rule about no killing....for some of it's members. Okay, and Johns had PG kill the Joker once...very out of character. But yes, The Shadow can get rather murdery.

I loved that, but was also strangely disappointed by it. I don't know, I just wanted something...more. That said, I loved the reactions of GH and Kato to The Shadow.

Is this series any good? Dynamite's pulp stuff has been hit or miss for me.

Well the Spectre isn't on the League. Then again Wonder Woman, Aquaman and the GLs have killed so points to you.

I thought it was decent. I dunno if I'd straight up recommend it with a "Hellz yeah it's great!" but Chris Roberson is a quality talent. If you have a fondness for the characters I think it's worth checking out.

I dunno. Maybe it's better than I remember. My expectations may have been too high. I first discovered Roberson when he finished JMS' Superman story Grounded, and Roberson almost made that story worth buying. So maybe I thought he could work miracles in every issue, and that's a unfair expectation to have.

Yes, I remember Roberson. He was able to salvage something from Grounded, but made the cardinal sin of pointing out that JMS was still recieving 50% of the payment for the issues despite only delivering a vague outline for the remainder of his story, so DC seems to have blackballed him for speaking out.

    Today, it's debatable.

The Shadow and Doc Savage are often cited as part inspirations for Batman and Superman.

Although, I think Crimson Avenger or Sandman come closer to the Shadow.

I could see Ghost in JL Dark. Ditto Hellboy. They did a crossover with Witchblade and the JL and she and Batman didn't exactly get along. I could see Madman in the Terrifics.

Lol-- I just think it's be hilarious if Doc Savage and the Shadow ran into Rasputin or Jay Gatsby.
