Gotta remember though this embracing himself as a weapon thing is in his Futures End tie in. Thus its a story set five years later in a possible future, and not at all an indication of what actually plans with the character moving forward in the present day are going to be.

Yeah I get that. It's just that the idea is tired at this point no matter what the context IMO.
