DC doesn’t really do successors, do they? Or at least not as much as Marvel does perhaps, like how just about every hero on the 2010s Champions was a direct teenage version of a previous hero. Maybe DC feels content focusing on black characters such as Cyborg, Amanda Waller, Black Lightning, and Vixen? Even John Stewart as a new version of the Green Lantern feels like he has been expanded enough to stand on his own, despite what you said. Then again, I suppose some fans feel even they could get a lot more attention than what they’re already getting.

It's actually way more of a DC thing than a Marvel thing, traditionally.

It's just that in the last 15 years or so we had this guy, Dan, who reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally went out of his way to kill the concept.
