Best "Gathering the Team" issues of Marvel comics..

I agree about Bendis "Avengers" team-gathering (particularly "Dark Avengers") and Busiek/Bagley " Thunderbolts.

And, politics aside, the gathering of Hydra's team in Spencer's "Empire Building" was also good.

Aside from that....The New Avengers coming together on The Raft during the break out.

That was what came to mind for me too. It has some creakiness in the joints because Bendis hammers the idea of that's how Avengers work, but it also has this great sense of destiny combined with some really good action that makes it work well.

New New Avengers, right after Secret Invasion. BuckyCap invites Ronin and Mockingbird, who invite Spider-Man, who invites Iron Fist, who invites Wolverine, who invites Jess Drew (who has to endure all those glares from people on the scene, just because Veranke was using her face).
