Known for her acclaimed Star Wars novels, Evernight series, and other sci-fi/fantasy works, YA author Claudia Gray is coming to DC next January to share a brand-new vision of the destruction of Krypton, one of the most famous tragedies in all of comics. In House of El, Gray will explore life on Krypton through the eyes of Zahn and Sera—two teenagers who are different in every way—as they come together to investigate the dangers threatening their planet. The three-part young adult graphic novel series will be brought to life by illustrator Eric Zawadzki (Heart Attack), and the first installment will debut January 5, 2021.

Heard her Star Wars novels are some of the best of the new canon, although I’ve never read them myself. Looking forward to this!

Lost Stars is one of the best Star Wars novels ever, let alone just the new stuff. It is amazing, and I cannot recommend it enough.

This looks really interesting and looks like it's actually going to be in the same vein as Lost Stars.

I'm assuming this is not canon.

This is great news. Lost Stars is one of the best stories from the new Star Wars canon.

Probably not although what’s “canon” is very superfluous at the moment lol.

I've enjoyed Claudia Gray's Star Wars novels a lot, so I'm interested to see what she does with the Krypton/Supreman mythos.

Considering this is based around the House of El, I assumed the leads were Jor-El and Lara (like in the New 52 where Jor-El was a scientist and I think Lara was part of security) but the leads are OC's. I'm curious what they have to do with the El family but maybe this is just going to be a young adult citizen perspective on the planet blowing up.

I’m interested, provided they leave Rogol Zarr out.

DC Nation confirms that it’s meant to be Book One of a trilogy.

So, this are graphic novels? Really hope at least some illustrations to give an idea.

I've been wanting to get stories about Jor-El and Lara origins and how they met too.

They are the TPB style graphic novels for the young readers like. Like the recent Raven, Super Sons, Oracle, Gotham High, etc. It's not a mainline DCU miniseries.

Even if it is it probably won't have any major ramifications to what is going on with Superman right now. It's just the story of two lost souls who died long ago.

I just wish we were getting more information about current continuity.

A very good friend of mine is the artist for this, and I've seen a boatload of pages -- it's going to be gorgeous.

It is not concerned with continuity, though.

Expected, these YA Comics all exist in their own worlds.
