This seems like it would've been a DC Ink series. Of course it's not in-continuity.

I expect Jor & Lara will have a role to play somewhere. Wouldn’t be surprised if Kara shows up too.

Good. Let them tell their story unfettered and the cool stuff can find its way into continuity.

I suspect that is now DC's current policy towards continuity.

If it's good, it's in continuity. If it's not, we ignore it. If it's good but doesn’t quite fit with other stuff, Hypertime!

I don't know why anyone would be concerned about continuity when this seems to be part of the YA graphic novel line.

I honestly don't know why Hypertime even needs to be a thing when you have the infinite Multiverse. I guess I always preferred the latter. Nevertheless, yeah, that does seem to be their approach which is a bit concerning, but we'll see how things go in the future. This is the Wild West in many ways.

It's look great but I'm a little sad it isn't a continuation of FS House of El and Bendis New Krypton...

The multiverse is great for evil doppelgangers and wild twists on DCU concepts, but I think Hypertime is a far more elegant solution to dealing with the Main DCU's regularly occurring revisions and inconsistencies.

Read the first book and enjoyed it! It’s like the Krypton TV show without the time travel plot. A lot of the lore is similar to Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel and the Byrne Krypton. There are genetically engineered caste structures with everyone basically being “designed” for their role. This manifests itself in interesting ways, such as the soldiers lacking empathy for one another and self-preservation instincts to the point they joke about claiming each other’s boots, because they’re all viewed as expendable. We also get to see some familiar faces such as Zod and of course the Els. This is very much an Elseworld so there are some changes like Lara being a “Ze” and the cousin of one of the main characters. Despite the “book” moniker its moreso “part one” of a three part story and ends on a cliffhanger. Looking forward to what comes next and I hope it does well!

Heard her Star Wars novels are some of the best of the new canon, although I’ve never read them myself. Looking forward to this!
Wait are they Supes ancestors or descendants?
