I think it could work if MacFarlane was just the artist and someone else was the writer.

From whats inferred it was pretty much G1 (before the movie) until humans suddenly had a massive third world war (the eugenics war) though you could perhaps mine a story or two out of megatron teaming up with Khan.

Could be (although the Eugenics Wars were not WWIII, with the Transformers seen leaving during the latter). Course, Windblade is shown to be an Autobot, so it kinda seems like evidence that the Transformers part of things could be made up from scratch.

I would enjoy the art no doubt. I imagine he's thought up lots of dynamic shots for spidey over the years so I would get it even if he wrote it.
