I need to be pair my list down a bit and even ignore some stuff, I am thinking more about collected editions and trades as runs.
Here is a paired down list:

    1. Jim Shooter and George Perez's Avengers, especially the Ultron and Count Nefaria runs.
    2. Jim Shooter and Curt Swan's Legion of Superhero Stories, from the Fatal Five all the Way to the Ghost of Ferro Lad.
    3. Batman by Rodgers and Englehart,
    4. Cary Bates and Elliot S. Maggin, "Who Took the Super Out of Superman" though I kind of love Superman from about 290-320, but maybe 400?
    5. Kurt Busiek, Alex Ross, Brent Anderson: "Astro City", its probably the Jack in The Box saga or Tarnished Angel.

This is really tough, I love the first 10 issues of the FF and the first 10 of Ditko Lee Spiderman, just great villain after villain stories.

Well, since this is the DC board, I'll stick to DC:
the '90s GL series starring Kyle Rayner
    Waid's Flash
    Stern's Starman
    Robinson's Starman
    Weisinger-Era Superman

If we open it up beyond DC, I'd drop the two Starman series in favor of Claremont's X-Men and Davis's Excalibur.

Counting to five is impossible for me. I’m reading Bronze Age Justice League. 133 to 141, there a Despero battle, an Adam Strange epic, and a Manhunter attack. Dick Dillion continues to surprise me. There are small rectangular panels just beautifully put together with so few images. Everyone is moving!

I always like this one. Right now, my list would be:

    Starman - Robinson
    The Flash - Messner-Loebs
    The Flash - Waid
    The Flash - Johns
    Hitman - Ennis

(I just noticed my list is unchanged from a year ago!)
"My name is Wally West. I'm the fastest man alive!"
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
