My introduction to the character was in Mike W Barr and Jim Aparo's Batman and the Outsiders which introduced the character and Katana was one of the highlights of that run. She had some strong emotional moments and was also a surrogate mom/protective big sister to Halo. She kills but only when she deems necessary, she does talk quite a bit and is not a psychotic violent assassin but an ordinary person who suffered a traumatic experience that pushed her into an extraordinary life style (I'm surprised that there aren't stories where she bonds with the Bat Family considering their similarities). Granted, there were some elements that were dated in Barr's and wouldn't be accepted today but there were cool stuff in his run that I wish were carried forward to today.
Future State Katana has interesting commentary on marriage.

I thought that was pretty funny.
Anyone read the Ann Nocenti Katana series that released a few years ago?
I'm really not up to date with Tatsu since I haven't read the last few Outsider runs, but I was a minor fan back in the 80s. As for her look, this one is pretty slick.
Questions:
- Is Tatsu still close with Halo in 52 and Rebirth?
- Is Gabby even active?
- Is Tatsu still depicted as being short (at least shorter than other women)?
- Is she considered the best sword fighter in DC?
- If not, who is considered better?
