There have been a lot of rumours about a potential new X-Men animated series to be released at Disney+ with some connection to the 90s animated series. In the last week Marvel has used this new images and some people are wondering if this could be the looks for the series?

    Too 90's.
They should take a leaf out of Dawn of X especially for Cyclops, Giant Size Jean, Storm, Rogue etc

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of 90s designs. I'd rather something like Dawn of X (but Jean in the Giant Size outfit)

You say that like it's a bad thing.

If Marvel is smart, they will try to capitalize on nostalgia and appeal to the 90's animated series audience. A *lot* of these 30-somethings are now parents of their own children that they'd likely want to watch a new cartoon based on the 90's one with.

Let's not forget Wolverine and the X-Men which tried to distance itself from TAS and suffered for it with only one season.

Agree with you, people need to stop living in the past. Just because it worked in one era doesn't mean it'll work again.

Yes, let it go. You can never get childhood back again. It won't be the same and things shouldn't try to be the same. People need to let go. It's ok for new things to happen.

Time for a new look. Not into unearthed time capsules masquerading as reboots.

Jean’s dawn of x look is terrible, and far more dated than the nineties look, lol. And the giant sized look is the nineties look in different colors. Rogue’s ‘dawn of x’ look is the nineties one with a different jacket.

nostalgia can be a fun element to play around with but too much is super alienating . It's arguably the biggest thing intimidating new potential fans. I'd say something fresh and current is the best way to go for a new x-men cartoon seeing as its been almost over a decade, if not longer, since the last one. A bit of 90s series-esque tacky n colourful accents could help individualize it but too much and it'll feel too dated. It'd be a shame to give that impression when the actual comics are more cutting-edge than they've been in forever

id argue its hard to measure a cartoon's quality based on how many seasons they get - WATXM had the right idea imo they just didn't sell enough toys lol. But would a rehash of the 90s do better? doubt it. the kiddos like new new new

It has been a decade since the last cartoon debuted, a good one cancelled over movie rights, and we might finally be getting a new one, but people don't want fresh looks because they watched an old cartoon a couple of times back when life was simpler.

You literally said they should take a leaf from dawn of x, especially for rogue and look at giant sized for jean, because these looks are too 90’s. My description of their current looks were accurate, so what were you talking about then?

We’re did the designs in the op come from? They look like they could ‘wider shots’ from be from the Disney + icons.

This is not dated at all and this is not the 90s look with a different color

Had they got a season 2 the looks would have been 90's inspired as well.

Wolverine and the X-Men had many factors against it and the suits were definitely not one of them. X-Men Evolution was much more successful and looked much less like the 90's.
