I just wonder, with DiDio's departure, is that treatment of Titans (and legacy characters at all) will change or not? It will be wildly ironic if, as a result, even without him, nothing will change much in this regard, despite the fact that he is associated with literally all the troubles of these characters.

I have little faith things will get better for the Titans and other legacy characters, I get the impression that Didio's sentiments are widespread throughout DC and he was the only one to voice them.

    Time will tell.

We haven't really had enough time to see what Lee will do as sole publisher, nor have we really had a chance to see how AT&T may impact the publishing.

Just looking at what little there is, I think we might have reason to be a little bit hopeful. Nightwing is getting his memories and costume back soon, it looks like he'll be leading a five issue arc in Justice League during Metal 2, and Snyder wants to do a story with him. And, yknow, none of that is really a big deal, it doesn't point towards a big push for the character, but it's a hell of a lot better than what we got under Didio these last few years.

Wally is likely going to have a solid role in Metal 2 as well as (maybe) DCeased and Williamson's final Flash arc. Which, again, it's not a big push but it's better than what we had.

And the Titans are a big deal in larger media; the Titans streaming show is apparently quite successful for the DCU app and TTGO! has been going strong for years. So if AT&T stick their noses in the publishing, odds are they're going to look at the Titans franchise far more favorably than Didio did.

I wouldn't say we're out of the woods and I wouldn't say we have reason to celebrate yet, but things might be looking better than they were, and the new post-Didio era has barely even started. If the biggest Titans stars like Dick and Wally start getting treated right, the rest of them won't be long in following.
"We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another, as if we were one single tribe."

    ~ Black Panther.

Titans and Teen Titans are too big a property not to be around in some format or another.

Nightwing's on his way back. Wally's back. Donna and Garth are still around. From the Fab Five, whom Didio worked hard to wipe out, only Roy remains dead.

But Death Metal is an opportunity to reset whatever DC/Snyder want to reset. And we know it's been expanded and that plans have changed a lot since Didio left the building.

I don't think Didio's anti-legacy policy will live on at all. I think, especially with the return of the JSA, legacy characters will be all the rage going forward.
