Might as well add Rod's sister (who first appeared in 1981) as she appeared in that same issue of Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe as Rod:

And her Golden Age inspiration, Quality Comics' Wildfire, who first appeared in Smash Comics #25 (August 1941):

I always wished Thomas had used Quicksilver in All-Star Squadron. Granted, he already had two speedsters to work with, but I would have loved to see an updated but faithful depiction of his suite of abilities: speed+gymnastics+a chemical arsenal.

Always loved the Ray since I was little, aesthetically his costume just has an iconic look.

Technically, the group "Freedom Fighters" was a creation of DC comics; but all the characters that were originally members had previously been published by Quality Comics.
They were formally introduced into the DC Universe in 1973 in issues #107-108 of Justice League of America:

though Golden Age stories of many of the individual Quality characters had been included in things like the 100 Page Super-Spectaculars prior to then.
