The accusers would have to identify, and implicate those Maxwell trafficked them to as clients. We have hard Trump's name mentioned by an accuser. Alan Dershowitz, formerly a lawyer for both Trump and Epstein, was named by an accuser in a Netflex documentary. Prince Andrew, yes... but he would have to lose the diplomatic immunity he's got as a member of the royal family.

While there's a pilot mentioning Bill Clinton got flown around among the lists of Epstein's guests... there's never been an accuser that I'm aware of having claimed to have had sex with him, in any form.

But for any trial, they would need to get the accusers to agree to testify against the johns in a separate case.

Saw this story on Twitter, so I thought I'd share this latest example of how the Qpublican Party is the Party of Death:

Missouri health department found mask mandates work, but didn’t make findings public

Mask mandates saved lives and prevented COVID-19 infections in Missouri’s biggest cities during the worst part of the delta variant wave, an analysis by the state Department of Health and Senior Services shows.

But the analysis, conducted at the request of Gov. Mike Parson’s office in early November, was never made public and was only obtained by The Missouri Independent and the Documenting COVID-19 project after a Sunshine Law request to the department.

The study compared infection and death rates in St. Louis, St. Louis County, Kansas City and Jackson County with the rest of the state. New state health Director Donald Kauerauf wrote in an email that the study’s findings showed the effectiveness of mask mandates and forwarded it to Parson’s office.

The analysis wasn’t included in material the department prepared for cabinet meetings, the emails show. Neither the health department nor Parson’s office responded to requests for comment asking why the data has not been shared publicly.

The comparison showed infection rates in “masked” jurisdictions were higher than the rest of the state in the six weeks prior to the emergence of the delta variant. Case rates then fell below other regions as the surge gathered force in late May and have remained lower since that time.

The statewide data shows that, from the end of April to the end of October, jurisdictions with mask mandates experienced an average of 15.8 cases per day for every 100,000 residents compared to 21.7 cases per day for every 100,000 residents in unmasked communities.

The four jurisdictions imposed their mask mandates in late July and early August, as the delta variant wave was peaking.

I'm worried that that might be wishful thinking. A lot of the cases so far are among younger people. Also a surprising amount of reinfections, so those people have t-cell immunity that makes the infection less severe. There seems to be some indication that an unvaccinated person will see a disease at least as severe as from Delta from this new variant.

According to the report, the ability of the variant to infect is higher than Delta but not as much as feared – around 1.3 times higher.

At the same time, those not inoculated have a 2.4 times greater chance of developing serious symptoms, a significant figure.

Looking back, these video clips make it clear Trump knew he had COVID before Biden debate

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes went in on former President Donald Trump after it recently came to light that the twice-impeached, one-term president appeared at rallies, meetings with Gold Star families, a party for a Supreme Court nominee, and even the first debate with then-candidate Joe Biden—all while knowing full well he had tested positive for COVID-19.

The timeline as laid out by Hayes shows dereliction of duty even more repugnant than usual for Trump.

According to a memoir by Trump’s chief of staff, Mark Meadows, titled, The Chief’s Chief, before Trump tested negative for COVID-19 on Sept. 26, 2020, he tested positive—nearly a week before he publicly disclosed his condition.

But instead of quarantining out of an abundance of caution, the White House chose to dismiss Trump’s positive result and allow the president to attend an event honoring his Supreme Court nominee, Amy Coney Barrett—with her children in tow—along with several other GOP members—all without masks, indoors and zero social distancing. This event was later acknowledged as a super-spreader event.

They have already established one person - Jeffrey Epstein. That's enough to bring down Maxwell as well. The long term question is going to be if the investigation goes any further.

Most UK paper reports suggest Prince Andrew does not have diplomatic immunity…certainly he doesn’t enjoy that status just because he’s one of the Queen’s sons (immunity on grounds of royal standing is restricted to the reigning monarch), but years ago he was a trade envoy, and might have some protection in regard to offences committed in that period.

Thinking about Ghislaine Maxwell case a bit more as I had morning coffee, can now accept that it might be case where a case could be made against her, while being near impossible to act against many other people.

(By the way, Ghislaine’s father “Captain Bob” Maxwell was in some ways like a more intelligent, less successful Donald Trump. Though I might be being unfair to Bob Maxwell there…he did at least do some heroic things in the Second World War, and started life without all the trappings of privilege.)

Can’t believe I missed this: a stopgap funding measure to keep the federal government running was passed last night. However, it only kicks the can down the road until February 18th.

Trump has never done anything heroic. Especially not during wartime.

On this date in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, as well as 2020, “Fanatical Republican Extremist of the Day posted profiles of U.S. Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi, an old pal of Mississippi Republicans like Haley Barbour and Trent Lott who like the both of them, has ties to the Neo-Confederate group, the Council of Conservative Citizens (which sure explains why he whines about the Voting Rights Act being “unfair” to the South), as well as ties to the anti-gay hate group, the Family Research Council (which explains why he tried to pass legislation to stop gay couples in the military from being able to get married). Sen. Wicker proposed a Personhood bill while in the house, the Life at Conception Act, which would have guaranteed Constitutional rights to zygotes, opposed Sen. Al Franken’s anti-rape bill in the Senate, and has falsely claimed the U.S. military has court martialed Christians for their choice of religion.

Sen. Wicker has mostly stayed out of the headlines the past few years, but has voted to confirm every member of the Trump “Cabinet of Horrors”, for Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court (calling the credible accusations against Kavanaugh a “smear” by Democrats), as well as voted for the “skinny repeal” of the Affordable Care Act.

Wicker just won re-election with 59% of the vote in the 2018 elections, and will be in office until 2024. He currently is doing his best to get people infected so they can die of Covid-19, claiming that mask mandates and advisements against large gatherings in the interests of public health “have gone too far”, and would prefer people use their “religious freedom” as an excuse to behave as a death cult to get together to become their own hot zone and die. Oh, that and shamelessly taking credit for all the legislation Democrats are passing and he votes against.

It's the new Republican strategy, you see. F*** over the American people at all times, and should, against all opposition the party provides, Democrats do something for the good of the people, pretend you were the hero.

Succinctly put, "F*** Roger Wicker with a Confederate flag on a pole."

Is that the state that also wants to restrict abortions righ now, or is that Mississippi? The irony would be hilarious if it wasn't so rage-inducing.

It is the Mississippi Law that is front of the SC right yesterday. Looks like it will be upheld.

They were waiting for this case before striking down the Texas law. It lets them gaslight by claiming not to be partisan hacks, and prevents other states from trying to insulate liberal things from judicial review.

Doesn't Alec Baldwin have a lawyer to tell him to shut the hell up? I mean he's busy digging his own grave with every word out of his mouth, the latest being the lie that the gun went off by itself. Excuse me, but cough, BS. cough. In order for the gun in question, a Colt Single Action Army, AKA the Peacemaker, someone had to cock the hammer, (hence the "Single Action" part of the name). For EVERY shot you must manually cock the hammer. Then you must pull the trigger in some fashion, (including snagging it on your holster or clothes). It no more goes off by itself than the Angels win the Series every year. Baldwin did SOMETHING to fire that gun, probably pulling the trigger.

Typically, people who carried that gun, did so with only five of the six possible rounds loaded, with the hammer down on the empty chamber. Then, in order to fire, you had to manually cock the hammer as noted before. That brings a live round into chamber. Honestly, it sounds like Baldwin has never handled a gun in his life, even on a movie set, which I know not to be true. He and everyone else on that production should have been given a gun safety course first, then one specific to that type of gun.

Let's take what we can get and hope that in February they can do something better.

    A few points...

He most likely DOES have a lawyer, but...
The lawyer might not be giving good advice.
He might not be listening to it even if it is.

Lastly, I had read elsewhere (a few days before his interview) that some of the prop guns had serious hair triggers - which is a concern all by itself if true. But there is another question - how many of those guns are authentic and not functionally different but visually the same replicas? For example, most Schofield revolvers on the replica market take Colt ammo, even though the original could not (which is why the Colt revolver was adopted instead).
