For all the crying that certain leftists did over the Democrats and drones, they 'curiously' remained very silent about this:

On March 10, a U.S. drone fired a missile, turning a passenger vehicle outside Janaale, Somalia, into a heap of burnt and broken metal with fresh corpses inside. Whether the people killed that day were “terrorists” or ordinary Somalis is actively disputed. It is also a reminder that the United States’ targeted killing program persists to this day, another legacy of the forever war that has now lasted for three presidential administrations and shows no signs of stopping in the next one. Under U.S. President Donald Trump, however, an already opaque and murderous set of rules has become even more widely applied, and ever less accountable.
The answer is 'a lot' and 'we don't actually know' the full extent.

    Put pretty simply...

The person who folks voted for based on that he had taught Constitutional law didn't really do a whole lot to see to it that those "Already Opaque And Murderous..." rules changed much while he was in a position to try to do just that.

If that's what I get from a vote that I hoped would potentially pull the limits of that Executive Branch power back in some?

There's not much of a point in getting particularly angry when Republicans take advantage of that reality.

IIRC he recently put up some of his properties as collateral for a loan from Deutsche Bank. That would be fraud if he gave them an inflated value of their worth. In any case, the properties are not in good shape. Once Trump got elected the revenue from some of his hotels dropped. The one Chicago is in trouble, which is part hotel and part condos.

The truth is, a lot of people booking rooms in Chicago don’t like Trump anymore. In 2015, his Windy City hotel generated $16.6 million of net operating income, according to documents obtained by the Washington Post. But in 2016, the year Trump won the presidency, that figure declined to $9 million. By 2018, it had fallen all the way to $1.8 million. And that was pre-pandemic. At a meeting earlier this year, the hotel’s managing director sounded the alarm: “It’s going to be very, very tough to keep the boat afloat,” he said, according to the Post.

    On that...

Never seen numbers to prove anything like this is actually the case, but always kinda wondered if it could be.

Illinois ain't a state that is in the greatest of fiscal shape. Plenty of folks leave the state each year based on property taxes alone.

You add that to the fact that there is a Republican leaning against staying in such a state?

Can't help but wonder just how much that has hobbled something that would already be a hard sell in Illinois.

A pickup truck parked at the United States Capitol and bearing a Three Percenter militia sticker on the day of the Jan. 6 riot belongs to the husband of freshman U.S. Rep. Mary Miller of Illinois, who approvingly quoted Adolf Hitler a day earlier.

Researchers on Twitter first noticed the Ford pickup truck with the far-right militia’s decal parked on the Capitol grounds in footage posted to social media and taken by CBS News.

The Republican on this forum is trying to assure us all the GOP still doesn't have a Qanon problem.

This is currently the Texas GOP's branding:

They're rallying behind Marjorie Taylor Green as a face of the party worth defending and giving a standing ovation to.

Suffice to say, I think the phrase is, "they doth protest too much".

You think? It's only a matter of time before they go to court. No way in hell Alabama (the college football team and the university, in that order) will allow themselves to be tied to the madmen and insurrectionists in the GQP. Bad for the brand.

Mitch McConnell Says He’d ‘Absolutely’ Back Donald Trump In 2024 Presidential Race

It’s a stunning turnaround from his angry comments this month that Trump was “practically and morally responsible” for the deadly storming of the Capitol. I don't get this, not at all. Could someone explain this to me please?

Senate Parliamentarian Rules Against $15 Minimum Wage In COVID-19 Bill

This is a devastating blow to the campaign to raise the minimum wage. Qpublicans (and a few Democrats, namely Joe Manchin) want to keep the poors poor.

Costco CEO Doesn’t Get Lindsey Graham’s Problem With A $15 Minimum Wage

Costco is upping its minimum pay to $16 an hour because “paying employees good wages makes sense,” W. Craig Jelinek told the Senate Budget Committee. Because Qpublicans (and a few Democrats, namely Joe Manchin) want to keep the poors poor.

Capitol Police Chief: Extremists Plotting State Of The Union Violence

Militias tied to the Jan. 6 insurrection have stated their desire to “blow up the Capitol,” said acting Chief Yogananda Pittman. And yet, Qpublicans support these lunatics because they support Trump.

Stephen Miller, Trump Aide Who Pushed Child Separation, Decries ‘Cruel’ Biden Immigration Policies

That's not entirely true. Nate Silver thought Trump had a shot in 2016 based on the polls.

    https://www.vox.com/2016/11/3/131476...trump-forecast

These are also really different types of polls, in that one is a measure of a subset of voters (Trump supporters) to determine that a small position holds a particular position, whereas the 2016 polls were about all voters on a binary choice where it mattered how voters in particular states went.

Another factor is that a lot of ordinary people haven't followed the news enough to know anything about QAnon. According to polls, the majority of Americans can't name a single Supreme Court justice. If this is the case, how many should be familiar with a particular absurd conspiracy theory?

Having lived there, WPP, I got to say you're making a bad bet here. Too many of the public donors, and the under the table athletic donors, would be mightily annoyed if bama took to the courts over this. So the school will ignore its existence as much as possible.

Really? Well now, I find that mildly surprising.

Good Lord! And Biden wants to unify with a party that has loopjobs like them for followers?
