It's called fetishizing. It's got nothing to do with respect, or admiration.
I've come to accept that a lot of the stars I've liked in the past are actually horrible people, and learned to separate their work from their personal lives. That's why I can still enjoy old Mel Gibson movies, even after learning that he called Winona Ryder an 'Oven Dodger'.
He probably did, especially since it was that movie that gave him cancer. They filmed it very close to a former nuclear bomb testing range, and I don't think they told the cast that little fact before they started shooting.
In happier news, apparently kids on TikTok are 'buying' millions of dollars of Trump merchandise from his on-line stores, but abandoning their carts and not paying for any of it. This results in the stores listing things as 'sold out', even as they have plenty of merchandise in their warehouses.
I'm really starting to like TikTok.

It's a bad app, folks, even if the kids are using it for good.
That Forbes piece ends with "avoid it like the plague" a phrase that has no meaning anymore.
Anyway. Wow, an app is bad. The people who run it awful. I'm shocked.
It is spyware. That is the main purpose, with the video is a feature.

McGrath wins Kentucky Senate primary
To Moscow Mitch's advantage that the race was so close. If that historic turnout doesn't replicate and unite behind her now he has thisAmy McGrath has fended off Charles Booker to clinch the Democratic nomination for Senate in Kentucky, setting up an expensive showdown with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in November.
McGrath had 45 percent of the vote, compared to 43 percent for Booker when The Associated Press called the race on Tuesday — a week after the primary which saw historic turnout and significant use of absentee ballots.
John Wayne movies can be educational. If you want to understand the American version of patriarchy, watch McClintock. Wayne's character there epitomizes how the patriarchy sees themselves.
