My comment wasn't about militias anyway. I was referring to states setting up digital data bases to track gun owners and dealers . The federal government isn't allowed to set up a digital database for this purpose and it's an immense burden for the ATF to monitor sales and distribution by gun dealers. Since Roe v Wade is actually a personal privacy issue, reinterpreting it as a states-rights decision rather than a federal law opens the doors for states to circumvent other federal laws regarding personal privacy, such as that degree on anonymity enjoyed by gun owners and dealers.
As far as reproductive rights go, canceling Roe could theoretically allow states to mandate use of contraception by women until a certain age. If a state can force women to carry a child to term, in theory it could force women to use contraception to forestall pregnancy in the first place.

"Militia" is a very broad term. It does not apply only to groups that officially call themselves a Militia. In fact, when the 2nd Amendment was written, we didn't have much of a standing Army, so state and local militias were there to supplement them, which turned out to be a good thing when the British invaded in 1812. However, that war showed how much we needed a more official standing national military. And now that we have that, we no longer need the state and local militias. Of course, we do still have those types, who think they're going to secure the border or their neighborhood. I think we could regulate those "Militias," right?

Sure, but the point still is that the voters of YOUR PARTY still came within 1% of returning him to office. He was as statistically as close to being as popular to the winner as you can get. Not like he was back with the also runs. Without just one of the many scandals he had, and he would probably be going back to DC.

Google’s Russian unit to file for bankruptcy, citing asset seizure

Google’s Moscow-based subsidiary plans to file for bankruptcy, a company spokesperson said Wednesday, because Russia’s seizure of its assets has made it impossible to run its business in the country. It has also moved most of its employees out of the country, the company confirmed.

The tech giant submitted a notice of intention to declare itself bankrupt, according to Reuters, which cited a filing in Russia’s federal register. Services such as Gmail, Search and YouTube — which are all popular with Russians — will keep working in the country.

“The Russian authorities’ seizure of Google Russia’s bank account has made it untenable for our Russia office to function, including employing and paying Russia-based employees, paying suppliers and vendors, and meeting other financial obligations,” Google spokesperson Julie Tarallo McAlister said.

The company stopped selling advertising and cloud computing services in Russia in March, part of a wave of U.S. companies who pulled back on business activities there in the weeks following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It kept running Gmail, YouTube, Maps and Search, and will continue doing so because “people in Russia rely on our services to access quality information,” the spokesperson said.

Google has also moved its Russian employees who have chosen to stay with the company out of Russia, the company confirmed Wednesday. The Wall Street Journal first reported the employee moves.

Russia has long used censorship and propaganda to shape public opinion, but U.S.-based social media networks like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube had operated with relative freedom for years, and Russians have used them to share political opinions freely. In 2021, Russia passed a law requiring tech companies to keep employees in the country, a move widely seen as a way to increase their leverage over them.
