He is right that voting against Trump is just the beginning. Americans will have to form a grassroots movement that effectively puts pressure on Biden to enact change, otherwise an even worse Trump will come 2024.

Trump lost the popular MASSIVELY TWICE! Biden got an absolute majority (over 50%) of the popular vote. The democrats have won the popular vote every single time since 2004.

Based on the voting patters of the Presidential election, it's quite clear that majority of Americans don't agree with the bigotry, racism, cruelty, callousness and frankly decadence of Trump and the rhetoric of the far-right.

Despite what Fox News is screeching, the country is more "center-left" than anything. If the "Trumpsters" are still living in their bubble, this is the time to come out of it and start asking themselves how they are going to move forward in what is a more "liberal" society than people want to admit.

1) As Sen. Majority Leader, McConnell brought in funding and other stuff into Kentucky that offered them advantages which an incoming blue candidate like Amy McGrath could not offer. McGrath also alienated and shut out the progressive challenge in her primary so she wasn't a strong candidate even for her party.

2) Kentucky has major voter suppression and gerrymandering like all Red States.

3) McConnell delivered a 6-3 Republican majority on the SCOTUS, getting religious types to see him as their man. And that meant the threat and fear of court-packing which McGrath had to play down made her vulnerable to respond as a moderate.

Is totally correct, accurate, precise. Voters believe Dems are Satan, and think that supporting a nihilistic conservatism as long as it works for them is fine.

McConnell's obstructionism on Congress has allowed Kentucky to get in a lot of funds, especially from blue states like NYS (which Andrew Cuomo furiously pointed out when Mitch slow-dragged stimulus and tried to attack blue governors and blue states).

So Kentucky has benefited from McConnell's nihilism and that's allowed him to get their vote.

Voter suppression is not going to explain a nineteen point difference.

He is really boring and really moderate. Which after the last 4 years is fine. Stability is good enough.

For me, these are mainly pluses. I voted for boring and moderate.

The good news for Biden is that he can turn that weakness into a strength. He gets no blame for not pushing radical policies because the Senate is gridlock, and now he can blame McConnell for any obstruction that happens. McConnell is gonna be the scapegoat and whatever frustrations people have about Biden, the entire Dem voter base despises McConnell.

The Dems downballot losses are down to Moderates not being able to hold out against a large Red turnout not against any rejection of radical agenda. Progressives did well in the election and Nancy Pelosi in the House now has to answer to a progressive agenda that expanded and won the election against the moderate Blue Reps-in-Red States that she had given undue attention to after 2018.
