Biden isn't strong enough to get both Americans home. He certainly has no problem leaving Americans behind, we've already seen that. Glad she's coming home, NO American should be left imprisoned in Russia.

Someone who would ask Putin if he wants any more Americans to imprison.

Apparently, the Gov contacted Whelan's family to let them know they got Griner, but were unable to get Whelan yet. The family themselves said that they should take the deal they got, not wait for a deal that may never come.

What I'm hearing is that Whelan was "convicted" of being a spy, and currently, the US doesn't have any Russian spies in custody that could be used for a 1:1 exchange. But they are still working on it.

There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

House passes historic marriage equality bill

The House on Thursday passed a bill to codify federal recognition of same-sex and interracial marriages, which will now go to President Joe Biden's desk for his signature.

The Respect for Marriage Act passed with bipartisan support in a 258 to 169 vote. Thirty-nine Republicans joined Democrats in voting yes on the bill.

A signing ceremony is scheduled for Thursday that will include Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Rep. David Cicilline, Sen. Tammy Baldwin, Rep. Jerry Nadler and Sen. Susan Collins. Former Rep. Barney Frank, an openly gay Democrat who has long fought for marriage equality, was present for the vote on the House floor on Thursday.
"Once signed into law, the Respect for Marriage Act will help prevent right-wing extremists from upending the lives of loving couples traumatizing kids across the country, and turning back the clock on hard-won progress," she said.

trump, who didn't help former US marine Trevor Reed who was being held in a Russian prison until 2022. I don't see the right bringing him up.

You implied that Biden let an American rot for 4 years, when clearly Trump failed at bringing the man home even though he literally has had sex with Putin.

Remembering and analyzing the past lets us better understand the present and predict the future, in other words: Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

Its not deflection at all. You pointed out there is a person in Russian Prison that has been there for 4 years and blame Biden for not bringing him home. Trump had two years to bring him home but you do not bring up that point. You would rather blame Biden for not bringing him home in the two years he has been in office when Trump who also had two years to bring the man home also did not.

It is not deflection to point out facts in an example you brought up.

Yea but he was arrested when trump was in office. You're just parroting whatever the far right tells you to parrot.

Even now, Trump has had a longer time to have done something than Biden has, seeing that the two year mark for Biden is a little under a month away.
