Of course he's selling better in Red states. Over the last several years he's spent more and more of his time crapping on democrats and liberals. And these days it's all about how terrible millennials and imaginary "woke" people are. This is exactly the sort of thing Fox News viewers want to hear.

Not all people living in red states are Fox News viewers. I live in a purple, almost 50/50 county in a "red" state and there were both Biden/Harris & Trump signs everywhere around here in 2020. His argument, not mine, is that people are more afraid in blue states than in red states.

If you need 1 million vaccine doses, order 1.5 million doses. If you think that some of the ICUs are going to be taxed, plan as if ALL of the ICUs are going to be filed up everywhere.

Trump downplayed the threat of COVID and we ended up with a serious Anti-Vaxxer problem.

If Biden and his administration is saying that things could get worse, but that there are ways to mitigate the danger, then more lives will be saved.

The Scientists and Medical Professionals are the first ones who will know the answers. So we can't expect the general population, or even President Biden, to know before they do.
Exactly. It's always better to err on the side of caution. Especially when lives are at risk.

One set of people you're talking about are a little wrong. The other one is killing people.

But embracing murderous policies is nothing new for American conservatism and the GOP.
Perhaps the forum's Republican has buried his head in the sand so far that he has missed the news that Trump supporting counties around the country, on the average, have six times the death rate of Covid-19 of counties that voted Biden.

They're killing themselves for the death cult, rather than get vaccinated.

I think you're responding to a point I haven't made, and you also summarized the conclusions of the study in the NPR article inaccurately.

And the head goes deeper into the turf as the statistics that his party is killing himself are shown.

Because to be a Republican, you also have to have no empathy, and be indifferent towards people dying, even if they're some of your own.

Pathologically predictable, really. Enjoy the extra elbow room at party meetings, I suppose.

    https://www.brookings.edu/research/h...and-behaviors/

The article also mentions the harm done when Republicans downplay Covid, but this doesn't seem to be a point in contention on this thread.

It's possible that the study is flawed, and that Democrats consistently have an accurate understanding of how dangerous Covid is for the average American, or the odds that someone with Covid will be hospitalized.

But if the study is accurate, it is objectively true that Democrats consistently exaggerate the harm of Covid. It's a bad thing to argue against the truth, and especially to go after someone personally who is correct about a factual matter.
The thing is though it says that the Dems to over estimate, but if I read right it didnt say they were doing it in a campaign to misinform others or mislead others on purpose.

Where as Trump and The Republicans did and are down playing the threat and misleading people on purpose.

One group seems to not have the facts and get it wrong. The other group it seems do have the facts and are lying and misleading people based on those facts it also says the average American is wrong and misinformed. Not the scientists, not elected leaders, but the average American. I can see a pretty big gap between the two.

So lets get to the heart, the Average American gets numbers wrong because they may not know all the facts. A Sitting President has the facts given to him by the CDC and health officials and he down plays and lies about these facts something the members and officials of his party also ran with and lied about those facts and that has cost lives.

Which one may have the longer more harmful impact?

Tami had brought this point up previously and it may be turning out to be true.

Omicron Covid variant may have picked up a piece of the common-cold virus
    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/12/05/omic...old-virus.html

This could mean the virus transmits more easily, while only causing mild or asymptomatic disease. Scientists do not yet know whether omicron is more infectious than other variants, whether it causes more severe disease or whether it will overtake Delta as the most prevalent variant. It may take several weeks to get answers to these questions.
If the variant has indeed picked up part of the common cold, that's very good news. If symptoms remain mild (or asymptomatic) and it spreads quickly, we're looking at possible herd immunity in a short time span. As viruses mutate they tend to get weaker so if the above is true, and omicron does overtake delta, we may finally be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. But of course still keep yourselves safe until it's all confirmed.

JOHNSTON, Ia. — During a Johnston Community School District committee meeting last month, Republican Iowa state Sen. Brad Zaun said he supported charging teachers who allow students to read “obscene” books, including LGBTQ+ themed books, with felonies.

At the initial reconsideration committee meeting on November 10, Zaun said he believed books about exploring identities and sexualities are inappropriate for students, reports the Iowa Starting Line. He added that he would work hard to create legislation to charge teachers with felonies if they allowed students to read such books.

“My warning to all the teachers and the administrators is you’re going to be in jail,” he said. “Because this is distributing pornography. And I will work my tail end off and it will become law.”
Books about figuring out who you are are inappropriate for children figuring out who they are, because then they may not decide that they're who we want them to be!

The last time I saw him was probably at Bush's funeral, he was looking rough even then.
