Well, it's nice of our conservative posters to remind us that they still like blaming credible rape victims.

It's like a preview of trying to seek out an even lower bottom awaiting in the coming weeks that can be stooped to when the hearings actually start.

Never mind that you can have an accusation without merit and blame victims at the same time.
It was the allegation that involved gang-rape.

I did not find Julie Swetnick credible, and will gladly have that question be the proxy for how seriously one should take my political opinions.

Which means someone set aside the other allegation to present the most kooky allegation as if it were the sole allegation.

This is a chance for the Republicans who claim that Trump does not represent the party to stand up to him. If they just lay back and let Mitch push a Justice down their throat then everything was just talk.

Trump is going to picked a qualified woman. that will make it hard for Murkowski or Collins or even RINO Mitt to vote against them. The Dems will have a harder time finding some nutjob claiming they were gang-raped by a woman....they still might though..

Relax, the way Roberts is going, it'll still be a 5-4 Conservative/Liberal split.
I assume this to mean that you're fine with your representatives going back on their statements from 2016.

And let's ignore that the leader of the Party they still support has just been accused of sexual assault for the 25th or 26th time.

I mean, I could go on. The exercise went nowhere because Republicans will never convict him in the Senate. However, they have enough impeachable offenses to stall Congress until January if need be. I'm actually kind of impressed.
Let's not forget the emoluments clause that Trump has been violating from day one of his Presidency by having foreign dignitaries stay at the "Trump International Hotel" in Washington DC.

Or asking the frigging Ambassador to the UK ask for the British Open at his Club.
Or pardoning someone in return for their silence, Which Barr said is a crime.

Except they want the justice a lot more than they want Trump.

A big part of the reason they're putting up with Trump is to get another textualist or an originalist on the Supreme Court.

They're not going to stand up to Trump if he's doing the thing they most want him to do.

Lamar is retiring, right? If so, what a way to end. Being an utter ******* to the very end.

.@LamarAlexander backs McConnell moves re SCOTUS: “No one should be surprised that a Republican Senate majority would vote on a Republican President’s Supreme Court nomination, even during a presidential election year. The Constitution gives senators the power to do it.

Recently, on FB, encountered the idea that there's a significant difference between a Liberal and a Leftist. Unfortunately, some things I thought would be Liberal (like Trans rights) seem to be embraced by Leftists. Disliking solving things through government seems to be Leftist. Anybody got thoughts on significant differences?

"Left Not Liberal" is a thing, yes.
