trump finally does something good. He's extending the CAREs Act payment of $600 to $400 a week. I'm sure Nov 3, 2020 had nothing to do with this decision...

The situation was Karen Bass shows how important it is to properly vet a VP candidate. So taking more time to make a decision is the way to go. Wait until right before the convention and hopefully keep the momentum going.

A cynic would say Republicans intentionally stonewalled the bill so Trump could look like a hero to the rubes by riding to the rescue like he had today. Chicanery aside however, the GOP’s all too genuine reluctance to agree to the original $600 a week stipend had been a major sticking point in getting that bill passed. Trump giving up on the payroll tax cut was a surprise though, given that was a poison pill both sides disliked, perhaps he had no choice on that score. Originally Posted by shooshoomanjoe
