the DNC needs to urge its deep-pocket donors to start funding nonpartisan voter registration groups like what's going on in Georgia now. Find the activists already there, and help build their capacity- Find people willing to move there and help out. Be vigorous in recruiting Democratic-sympathetic folks; those who are voting and those who aren't voting. Encourage residents to run for office. (city level, county level, etc.) De-emphasize trying to bend over backwards to convince super-hardcore MAGA folks that Democratic candidates aren't (fill in the blank Biblical evil.) If approached pragmatically, it won't yield "instant" results but there can be positive returns in the form of more challenging races for local, state and federal office from the Democratic side.

And Trump will keep the lawsuits coming, if but for no other reason than continued grifting as money coming in from donations are no doubt being siphoned off into Trump’s coffers.

With Katie Hill, it wasn't clear that pushing her out cost the party more than keeping her in.
It is simple, and there is no question to it, at least as far as you are concerned. And it is not "situations", plural, but just this one situation, exactly, because you will dismiss everything else as irrelevant.

You are clinging to this one specific scenario, where you can insist that because Northam, Fairfax, and the AG did not all resign their positions, that means you can claim all Democrats are "posturing" when they criticize the Republican party accepting and shielding horrible people. And there is not even any aspect of this specific situation that is worth discussing, because your opinion that all three not immediately going away can somehow be used to generalize to all Democrats is unchangeable.

Okay, well fair enough that you hold this opinion. I disagree, and further I think you are really reaching pretty ridiculously far to make your "logic" calculate the conclusion you've reached. I think that's just the opinion you want to have, and that it's somewhat disingenuous to pretend it is anything more than that.

Meanwhile, I’ve heard the Trump campaign is 1 for 39 in the lawsuit department. Sweet Jesus, that’s a hell of a lot of winning!

Won't work. They get reelected b/c they serve people like Koch, who fund their ads, and they speak to the fundamentalist sentiment of their rural voters. If imposing hardship on rural fundamentalist turned them toward alternatives, or even made them stay home on election day, the GOP would have gone up in flames in 2018.

They people of Kentucky vote for people who take their Healthcare away. But as long as they will stop abortion, don't matter how much they get screwed.

You're too intelligent to be so imprecise. The fundamentalists of Kentucky, and many other states make such choices. They just happen to outnumber the rational where they live.

The thing is, all of those supposedly sensible folks live in and around all of the crazy people and run in many of the same social circles, and when they see their entire community swept up in Trumpist fervor, it's a lot easier to just kind of go along with it than to take a principled stand, particularly if you are a mostly apolitical person who doesn't pay much attention to the issues usually. And if you are the type of person whose going to throw their lot in with white nationalists just to fit in with everyone else in your knitting club or whatever, then how strong was your moral fiber to begin with, and are you the type of person that's worth trying to win over? I don't want to hear any more stories about how much rural America is struggling or ignored by those Hollywood elites or whatever OANN is peddling these days, the fact of the matter is that there are people who face far greater hardships who are routinely ignored by both sides and haven't used that as an excuse to turn to fascism, and we should maybe be trying to cater to their needs rather than trying and failing to pander to the mythical white moderate vote for the umpteenth time.

Actual solutions are going to require Democrats being able to grasp when they have dropped the ball, and learning from it. Learning from that they completely misread the situation is going to be a pretty critical step in actually putting themselves into a position to solve problems.

I seriously doubt that just ignoring that Sanders could see a pretty realistic outcome(never mind that it will be almost exactly the situation that will come to pass...) actually has "No Real Meaning..."

And Trump is busy sending out emails begging for money to overturn the election results. This money is probably going to find its way into taking care of personal/campaign expenses instead. Even though there was a frighteningly large amount in the Trump campaign coffers (one BILLION) , they were running low on funds towards the end. I wouldn't be surprised if the campaign stiffed some of those rally sites and they still owe money.

No probably about it! At this point, Trump is just trying to scam as many rubes as he can before leaving office.

And he's going to start a 2024 campaign ASAP to keep the grift going. He will be able to spend all that on his travel and food expenses, under the guise of it being "campaign expenses".

He's already violated the Hatch Act multiple times, so it's not like there's not going to be any number of campaign finance violations. The question now is, which AG at the state level sees a report where he's committed a crime and goes after him for it?

SDNY already has the Stormy Daniels/Katherine McDougal payoffs thanks to Michael Cohen. But there's no way he only f***ed up twice. Trump University, Trump Casino violations... he's been breaking the law for decades and would already have been in jail had he not been a rich white guy with friends in the right places to avoid prosecution.

SOME of those rally sites? I'd say, more like ALL those sites. Why cities never asked for cash up front BEFORE Trump came to town is a mystery to me.
