Practically the same thing is happening in Florida where another Republican governor is concerned more with placating Trump than protecting his constituents. The Republican Party is hellbent on killing Americans for the sake of the economy.

Why does Trump even care? He fled New York City for Florida because people were mean to him....and because SDNY was on his ass like white on rice and he couldn't handle the heat.

Because they know the chances of them getting voted out are slim to none.

Dallas's mayor (black man) took a shot at that hair dresser that those two were praising. I have a strong feeling he won't get a second term. It took a run off for him to win last year.

It's been reported that nearly 5 million jobs were added last month while the unemployment rate dropped to just over 11 percent. Of course, Trump wasted precious little time popping his jersey and taking a victory lap in a presser not too long ago. While I'm glad people have gone back to work, how will the July numbers look, what with coronavirus cases spiking all over the place during the last several weeks, forcing fresh rounds of business closures?
Just a FYI for everybody-those numbers do n ot include those who CAN'T get unemployment because they are considered still employed.

My friend is a bus driver for the schools. She has not be paid since May. She can't get unemployment because the bus folks are telling the unemployment office those bus drivers are still employed.

Mind you this also includes cafeteria folks.

Those are currently the only two school related jobs where you don't get paid if school is not active.

As the coronavirus infection rate rises across Los Angeles County, the city of West Hollywood has instituted a fine for people who are on city streets without a face mask or covering.

The city said Wednesday it would issue an “administrative citation” to those who are not conforming. The citation will be $250 for first-time offenders, plus a fee of $50, for a total of $300.

Residents of California have already been under a mandatory mask order since June 15, but the wider order from Governor Gavin Newsom does not carry any fine. The Los Angeles Times reported recently that more than a dozen lawsuits have been filed challenging the governor’s right to impose such orders, but state law permits the governor to ask the Department of Public Health to step in during an emergency.

The West Hollywood Sheriff’s Department statement said, “Beginning this month, we will start issuing Administrative Citations for people who are not conforming to the Order to wear a face cover/mask in public. Our last option was to conduct enforcement by issuing an Administrative Citation, but the risk to Community health is too great.”

Why do I have a feeling when the data from this comes out next month-the majority of fines issued will be black folks?

Having to reclose businesses and back off your re opening plans cause your cases are skyrocketing doesnt help the economy. SO even that logic is baffling. I mean they have to be practically forced at gunpoint to say wear a mask even.

If you want everything open and staying open ASAP who gives a **** about trump being contradicted. Tell people to wear masks and social distance or they will be fined. Do what it takes to get the counts under control and reopen and stay open safely then.

They aren't even doing the bare minimum without being shamed into it. And then they blame the media for "scaring people"

And Trump is hated in NY. He lost both the city vote and state vote in 2016. New Jersey ain't too fond of him either because he swindled a number of local businesses when his casino was being built and then later when he went bankrupt. Bankruptcy works different for rich people, even pseudo rich people like Trump. They can weasel out of a lot of debts and bills owed.

Hundreds claim Trump doesn't pay his bills in full

Retired piano dealer Michael Diehl says he has 30,000 reasons not to vote for Donald Trump for president.

The small businessman said he won a bid in 1989 to supply $100,000 worth of grand pianos to Trump's Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City but was still waiting to be paid months after delivery. The gambling mecca finally told him it ran into financial difficulties and could only give him 70 cents on the dollar.

Diehl, 88, told NBC News that even though he held up his end of the contract, he felt he had no choice but to take the discounted payment and lose $30,000 — or about a third of his yearly income.

"I needed the money because the manufacturers needed to be paid," he said. "It hurt. It was hard to get over."

    • More than 200 liens since the 1980s that were filed by contractors and workers who said they were stiffed.
    • Records released by casino regulators in 1990 that show 253 subcontractors on a single project were not paid in full or on time.
    • Twenty-four Fair Labor Act violations by the Trump Plaza casino and Trump Mortgage for failure to pay minimum wage or overtime. The cases were resolved with an agreement to pay back wages

A Vintage Store Is Going Viral For Putting Up A Sign About Face Masks That Gets Real Dark, Real Fast

Antique Sugar is a vintage shop in downtown Phoenix.

They reopened on June 1, and like most logical businesses, are requiring people to wear face masks inside their store.
Now, they're going viral for a sign they put outside their store.

The owner said that they originally had a "much sweeter" sign that said: "Thank you for wearing a mask. Help us stay healthy so we can stay open." She got frustrated with people coming in and arguing with her about it, so she changed it to the one that's now going viral.

I liked this comment about a Biden ad.

As soon as I hear the music I’m waiting to find out which beer it’s going to sell me at the end
The ad itself was pretty good.
    Sincerely,

Mississippi election commissioner's social media comment about Black voters causes uproar

A social media comment with racial undertones made by a Mississippi election commissioner sparked outrage across the state on the same weekend state legislators voted to retire the flag and its Confederate emblem.

"I'm concerned about voter registration in Mississippi," the commissioner wrote. "The blacks are having lots (of) events for voter registration. People in Mississippi have to get involved, too."

Gail Welch's comment caused an uproar Sunday, as screen shots of the comment spread quickly on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Welch said she has received calls and messages from all over the country about the post.
Even I can see that she is implying if not outright stating that Blacks who live in Mississippi aren't 'Mississippi People', aka the only true residents of Mississippi are white.

74, with underlying health issues, and he was at the Tulsa Death Rally without a mask. That dumbass is lucky to still be on this side of the grave.

    Two weeks after the rally.

Gee, I wonder where he got it? And how many other people present are about to test positive?

Can you imagine how bad it would be if they rally hadn't been so poorly attended?

I saw that lung on Twitter first. Anyone who thinks COVID-19 isn't real or should be treated lightly need to look at that damn thing. While you're more likely bound to just be fortunate enough to endure a brief bout of misery if you're lucky, for those who aren't so fortunate, the disease effectively causes the victim to (pretty much) drown on dry land due to the body starving for oxygen, but the lungs aren't capable of delivering air into the bloodstream as a result of the damage on the microbial level. And it's those cases alone that should be reason enough for people to take this seriously.

CDC site says incubation period can be anywhere from 2 - 14 days. So we may see more reports of infection soon.
